Last chapter, Haggy said that The tailed beast chakra wasn't needed to release IT, al that was required is Sasuke's moon, and Naruto's sun seals. So then what is Sasuke blabbering about, "I don't need you, I can just use the tailed beasts here instead?" When Kurama specifically asked if their chakra was needed, and he said "NO."

Did I miss something here?

When he declined the use of the tailed beast's power, he said that he can use the pieces in Naruto instead.

So.... yes, releasing the IT does require the use of the tailed beast's power.

It's not a contradiction when Sasuke learns from this conversation that he can still release the genjutsu even if he kills Naruto.
