Eminem's the best rapper some of his songs might be about "how shitty his life is" but his newer sngs and some real oldies are really epic
Pretty much this. Also, YM is terrible.Well there's Hopsin, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Elzhi, Dizzy Wright, Blu, Macklemore, J. Cole, Cunninlynguists, Apathy, Evidence, Fashawn, Brother Ali, MF Doom, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Tech N9ne, Royce da 5'9", Saigon, Joe Budden, GZA, Andre 3000, Big Boi,
Weeell..., when you look at it from this perspective, he only has 6 major label albums. SSLP was the big one regarding drugs and the subjects you mentioned. MMLP was mostly that, but also about him dealing with his fame, as well as an increase of homophobic and misogynistic lyrics (neither of which he is). TES basically scrapped drugs, and now he's talking about how nothing affects him and how he affects others and that he'll never stop rapping. I hardly even recognize Encore and Relapse (drugs, drugs, drugs,...). And Recovery was all about "I'm Back" and "I'm the Best". But hey, at least never ONCE mentioned being loaded.I like eminem don't get me wrong, but I just get tired that most of his songs are about how shitty his life is and how ****ed up he is. Y'know? It gets tiring. I'm not saying all the other rappers rap about better things, but still..
No, that's just pop rap (yes, POP rap. REAL rap isn't about any of this $#!+.). Personally, I listen to both ends of the spectrum, with a little in between (meaning hip-hop/hardcore rap & metal/metalcore). And you'd be surprised that some of the most beautiful songs in the world and considered Satanic just because it has screams. Older or more classic rap is the same way. This pop crap that talks about nothing but hoes, money, and guns that they don't even have has given the true MCs bad names.yeh there's no more meaning in music these days, all they talk about is clubs, drugs, girls and drinking. pretty much sums it up in my opinion
Iffy on Lupe? :O My friend go listen to Food and Liquor. Lyricism at its finest.J cole and wale are great, im still iffy on lupe.
