Is there a correlation between power and how much people hate a series?

I noticed that as characters get stronger and stronger, people just start hating on the series more and more. This especially holds true with Naruto, but I also have seen it happen with dragonball.

People hated GT for some reason! Expectedly, Goku was at his strongest in GT (until battle of the gods came out). In GT, Goku had super sayain 4 and he was immensely stronger than he was at the end of DBZ. When Goku fought that guy General Rilldo, Goku stated Rilldo to be even stronger than Majin Buu (an opponent that Goku struggled against in DBZ, even against Uub at the world tournament).
Yet Goku was able to take on Rilldo with relative ease when compared to his battle with Buu.

Clearly, Goku was much stronger in GT, but everyone hated it! Now I am not saying that GT was perfect. The adventures in space just felt a little too annoying and filler like. Also, I didn't like how the other super saiyans weren't really given any battles or even that much screen time or development.

Nevertheless, once it hit the Baby saga, that is when it got great! Super sayain 4 and all of Baby's abilities and transformations were epic! Furthermore, the fight was full of tension and thrill because Baby had taken over the earth! Goku even almost died again! It was great!

Then the shadow dragons were just a master piece! I love how they had other abilities with other effects besides just energy! Of course they still had energy as well. Their attacks and battles were epic! Pan almost got absorbed. Nova Shenron was as hot as the sun!

And the last battle was just amazing! This is the battle that brought to us super sayain 4 Gogeta!! It also brought a universal spirit bomb! Talk about epic! The ending then left so much room for thought and fan fiction with Goku going off with Shenron!

It was great! Yet so many people hated it!

I just don't get why!! Furthermore, I have heard people hate on other mangas and characters for simply increasing in power! It is just stupid! Don't you know that trials and tribulations are supposed to get tougher as time goes on in a series, thus warranting increases in power?!!

I don't get people's logic with their weakling lover mind sets!

So tell me, is there a correlation between power and your hate for a series?

I don't think it's when a character gets stronger,it's when you get ridiculously much ass pull power ups.

Not really
It is just that people woul appreciate a coherent story.
It is just coincidence that the story becomes sometimes worse when the power levels rises

Less to do with the fact that they got more powerful and more to do with the fact Dragonball GT sucked Animation/plot and continuity wise.

Naruto more so over the increasingly lack of ninja like aspects to the latter half of the series, although those who complain forgot that from the start of the series it was never just a straight up ninja story anyway.

The stories are coherent though. Neither Naruto nor dragonball have become any less coherent as time went on!

Personally, part 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> part 1 to me.

Dude this war arc may have some epic moments, but you cannot call this a coherent story :|

That "ninja aspects" thing is stupid! For goodness sake, in the first chapter Naruto did transformation jutsu and shadow clone jutsu. Since when do real life ninjas do that? Why do people treat the series like it has to go by the real life interpretation of ninja? One piece doesn't go by the real life interpretation of pirates, but everyone is fine with that! Look up Blackbeard the pirate (the one from real life history) and tell me if he ever had stretchy powers and haki!

I think it just depends on logic like if so and so is strong and is beat easy while the next person is weak and hard to beat like really that's what pisses me off

It has nothing to do with power. I hhhate DBGT because it sucks and belittles the original story. I liked Kami Tenchi even though he's probably the strongest anime character to exist.

I personally didn't like this Juubi Jin/Hagoromo thing ,because it kind of ruined plot, I liked it when even a Kunai could be deadly.

Off Topic: Don't mention GT ever...It was a disgrace for the dragonball franchise

There is a difference b/w the 'harmless' shadow clones and rasengan-s in part 1 compared to destroyed countries, blasted mountains, etc in part 2. Some people just don't have an affinity for such power scales, including me. You should just deal with it, you post that kind of thread for the umpteenth time.

Dragonball GT has nothing in common with the word coherent.
Perhaps your watching a different dragonball series

The ninja aspects is stupid ?
Are you even trying to have a conversation ?
The series was based around that premise and setting.
That is what people saw and that is what people continued to read it for.
I do agree with you on the fact it doesn't need to constantly stay the way it was which is why you don't see me *****ing and makign threads containing lines like "part 1 was better" "i hate planet busters" because i knew there was a mystical aspect to it from the start which is pointed out in my original post

People hated GT because it wasn't part of the DBZ canon, not to mention the story arcs were boring and awful.

Then why do you read/watch Naruto then? There are plenty of other anime/manga that have power levels off the scale,at least Naruto tried to keep it consistent at the beginning.

Its more about the fact that when the series started even badass. Ninja had to fear a surprise kunai. There was a major power shift between part one and two even for the top notch shinobi. Dbz has always had a ridiclous power scale from the get go,so I don't feel it gets flak for this. I would most certailny have rathered naruto stay the way it was in part one, were even physically weak like shikamaru could out smart his apponent. Now its all about who has that op jutsu.

It's because as the power levels increase, the series ventures further away from reality. The characters become less relatable I guess. Some people, however, can be entertained by flashy effects and nonstop action.
