I noticed that as characters get stronger and stronger, people just start hating on the series more and more. This especially holds true with Naruto, but I also have seen it happen with dragonball.
People hated GT for some reason! Expectedly, Goku was at his strongest in GT (until battle of the gods came out). In GT, Goku had super sayain 4 and he was immensely stronger than he was at the end of DBZ. When Goku fought that guy General Rilldo, Goku stated Rilldo to be even stronger than Majin Buu (an opponent that Goku struggled against in DBZ, even against Uub at the world tournament).
Yet Goku was able to take on Rilldo with relative ease when compared to his battle with Buu.
Clearly, Goku was much stronger in GT, but everyone hated it! Now I am not saying that GT was perfect. The adventures in space just felt a little too annoying and filler like. Also, I didn't like how the other super saiyans weren't really given any battles or even that much screen time or development.
Nevertheless, once it hit the Baby saga, that is when it got great! Super sayain 4 and all of Baby's abilities and transformations were epic! Furthermore, the fight was full of tension and thrill because Baby had taken over the earth! Goku even almost died again! It was great!
Then the shadow dragons were just a master piece! I love how they had other abilities with other effects besides just energy! Of course they still had energy as well. Their attacks and battles were epic! Pan almost got absorbed. Nova Shenron was as hot as the sun!
And the last battle was just amazing! This is the battle that brought to us super sayain 4 Gogeta!! It also brought a universal spirit bomb! Talk about epic! The ending then left so much room for thought and fan fiction with Goku going off with Shenron!
It was great! Yet so many people hated it!
I just don't get why!! Furthermore, I have heard people hate on other mangas and characters for simply increasing in power! It is just stupid! Don't you know that trials and tribulations are supposed to get tougher as time goes on in a series, thus warranting increases in power?!!
I don't get people's logic with their weakling lover mind sets!
So tell me, is there a correlation between power and your hate for a series?
