The only reason fillers exist is money, to prolong the existance of the Anime and make more profit. Fillers are the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced when it comes to visual entertainment. They ruin the Anime, that is why Naruto, an anime which has the potential to be the best anime ever created sucks as an anime and Death Note is the best anime ever made, with great story, great characters and no fillers.

You shouldn't be surprised especially after last year's filler season... But they don't want the Anime to catch up to the manga. Sometimes the 1 Anime episode take up 2-3 manga chapters. (Sometimes)

@ OP: They just don't want to catch up to the manga fast. But they've still got the Jinchuriki Confined arc to complete. Then they can make fillers about Naruto roaming the island >_>

i think it's to give them time to make great animation for the war. like in the kage summit arc. i don't really mind fillers usually, but this filler arc was disgustingly poor.

I think they're trying to outwait the war arc so they can see what they can add (Like maybe Sora, longer fights, etc..).

ok....here is my opinion...fillers will end in january with 1 filler episode and 3 canon ( it was supposed to end in december but we had a delay) it is actually one of the biggest filler arcs in shippuden, so i guess they will show the whole war arc without fillers (hope so) so what can i say they really needed the manga to go on and right now we are 150 chapters ahead of the anime...yet i vote 5
