Before reading, I want everyone to know that I am speaking on the current databook, and not the upcoming books. Also I wrote this having seen that majority of the base clings to the databook as a sort of “ultimate truth”, and this thread is merely to clear up that misconception. Also the description of the techniques that are listed in the databook is my primary reason for writing this.
Introduction:
The Manga's Superiority:
Hypothetical Situation:
We will use a hypothetical situation, of Susano’o requirements to prove this point.
X will be using the databook for facts (upon publication), and Y will be using the manga for facts.
X: You have to have Tsukuyomi in order to use Susano’o as it’s stating in the databook. So since Itachi, Sasuke, and Madara all have Susano’o they must have Tsukuyomi.
X: You’re wrong during the fight with Killer Bee Sasuke was using Tsukuyomi.
Y: It is not stated that Sasuke used Tsukuyomi at all, if anything Sasuke used a mere binding genjutsu.
X: If that’s true, how come Danzo said that Sasuke had Tsukuyomi in their fight, but that it was just much weaker?
Y: Danzo said “that Sasuke casted an illusion on him” that doesn’t necessarily mean that it was Tsukuyomi. Tobi clarifies this, when he states “it’s a weak genjutsu that doesn’t last long.” Tsukuyomi in itself is not a weak genjutsu, and typically when it is used the user will say so.
In using this hypothetical situation Y has soundly shown us that although the databook are canon, they are only accurate up to their publication.
Summary:
Introduction:
I have long been mindful of the fact that the databook, which was written and published four years ago, (September 9, 2008) is now possible to being flawed. The databook overall roughly covers volumes 28-43, and nothing more. It is not my intention to denigrate this work, but rather to acutely call out the alterations of the manga that now render the databook’s claims questionable. Do not misunderstand me; the databook’s are an accurate source of information upon their publication, but afterwards the facts should be question.
The Manga's Superiority:
The manga should be used over the databook to justify one’s points, simply because it is au courant with the facts and feats of the story, whilst the databook is not upon its publication. One of the principal aims in stressing this point is for the bothersome claims that someone makes, when using the databook to justify a point instead of the manga. This justification is as followed in "certain conditions."
Hypothetical Situation:
We will use a hypothetical situation, of Susano’o requirements to prove this point.

Summary:
Ultimately the point I am trying to make is not to look to the databook as the "definite truth", but instead use the manga to validate your propositions, and answers.
