Urahara could come back to be the new captain commander. His bankai is called double suicide I don't see how he won't die.

Haven't you read the latest chapter? His Bankai chick calls the shots on the effects, and she left him off the hook, aka, let him live. If the Bleachverse followed the logic of being 100% literal with every Bankai or technique's name, we would have a very diferent manga.

Bleach is so dragged out its hard to remember events in this arc. What chapter did it say ichigo cant return?

Even if Ichigo doesn't get to return to the human world I doubt he is mentally ready to be a captain of any squad though

If Hitsugaya can be a Captain, Ichigo can as well.

They're in the bankai and she calls the shots. She wanted theatrical suicide. She wanted the "dans" the pain and the buildup. She had Shunsui rest in her lap. Shunsui just died in her arms.
Now comes the "encore" the finale where she goes bat-guano crazy and eviscerates everything in the bankai's radius because her heart just broke.
Then she'll probably suffer in shunsui's place and she will wait for him on the other side. Because "that is a woman's compassion" as Shunsui says. Heartbreaking
