I don't see him dying, that will be two head captains gone in one war. That will be a disaster because there's nobody to replace him. Heck I don't even think there are enough people to replace the current captains and vice captains that have been taken out. If he kills him off it will kinda be bad writing on his part. Even if Ichigo doesn't get to return to the human world I doubt he is mentally ready to be a captain of any squad though

I agree there, he's nowhere near ready to be a head captain, but we saw this in Naruto. Naruto was the strongest and they took time to prepare him and had a mentor fill the role until he was ready for the mantle. Ichigo has already changed the soul society. It's not impossible, but I hope it doesn't happen.

This is Kubo. Urahara would be a good fit, but to your last point... that's why Aizen would need to come back full power. Shunsui dies and bam. The troll king is back!

Then you ask how does he know how to use it, well like in OP they know how to use a DF as soon as they eat it maybe like that, once you get the power the knowledge how to utilize it comes with it idk. I've got a theory that he unlocked that bankai and killed his wife and maybe even his daughter. There's stuff in the manga that makes me think that.

no. this is the point where previously terrifying enemys get knocked down like bowling pins, and he just revealed a hither-too unknown ability. the only way he could be less likely to die is if he was mayuri.

I believe its called double suicide cuz if he don't finish his opponent off fast enough he will die so will his opponent.

Bleach is so dragged out its hard to remember events in this arc. What chapter did it say ichigo cant return?
