It's supposed to be: Uchiha and Senju ( or Indra + Ashura)= Hagoromo

Yet apparently Naruto is Hagoromo : Sasuke is Hamura

And that makes NO sense although Hagoromo is represented as Naruto, Sasuke is the one with the rinnegan, and Naruto doesn't have jack all in his eyes.

Sasuke has the spirit of Indra
however
Naruto is the successor of Hagaromo,
We don't know anything about Hamura,but as of yet there isn't anything for him to succeed.

The plot drives around Sasuke. All of part 1 was entirely about him with the story being told through the eyes of Naruto. The main villain and the main goal was all focused on him. That's why when Sasuke left the village Part 1 ended.

Aside from the Akatsuki in Part 2, the rest of it was on the history of the Uchiha with us learning about it through Sasuke's eyes. It wouldn't be a stretch to say Sasuke plays as big a role if not bigger than Naruto himself does in the story.
