For anyone who doesn't feel like going back to the first page..

Do you remember after the battle with Pain when Naruto told Kakashi that he meet the fourth hokage and Kakashi mentioned the name Uchiha Madara Naruto immediately flashedback to the time when Sasuke entered his subconsciousness and the fox himself told Sasuke that it reminds him of the time that uchiha madara used the same eyes on him.

How come Naruto who isn't as smart as Sasuke was able to connect the name almost instantly and Sasuke just never even made a connection when Madara told him that the incident involving the fox so many years ago (which led to Danzou's suspiocion that Uchiha were behind the attack hence the massacre) was just an accident did he just forget or did hate just cloud his judgement or maybe he did remember and is just trying to get close to Madara in order to discover his secret.

And I know you may be thinking if he is faking why did he damage the raikage and kill Danzo but you have to remember that Itachi killed off his entire clan to avoid war and he faked being evil using MS on Kakashi and Sasuke (twice) in order to fool Madara (which failed obviously) so it isn't that far fetched that Sasuke is going thru the same extreme lengths as Itachi in order to get close to Madara and maybe learn his weakness.

Oh and don't go saying that the fox didn't directly say that he was being controled by Madara it was in the subtext and Sasuke actually raised his eyebrow as in "what the hell is this guy talking about" when the fox mentioned Madara.

I know this is getting too long but I just had another theory maybe this will be the deus ex machina that brings Sasuke back to reality when he remembers this moment but if that is the case I will be very disappointed becasue if Sasuke is supposed to be some kind of ultra genius he should have seen that a mile away.

Finally over so what do you think?

This is an excellent theory, and I agree with it. I've been saying for a little while now that Sasuke isn't as stupid as some think. There's no way he can't see that Madara is ultimately to blame for the Uchiha Clan Massacre. The question is: Why hasn't he gone after Madara yet? Is he really going to try, and destroy The Leaf? It doesn't make sense, because Naruto has more reason to be pissed off with them than Sasuke does. I like the theory, but if Sasuke is really being that dramatic, then I certainly don't like him.

This an excellent and well thought out theory. I, too, have been thinking along these lines because, as you said, it wouldn't make sense for sasuke to throw what itachi wanted to the side like that. I don't see sasuke coming back to the village mainly because he's done so much bad but, I think he is helping, in his own way.

Your theory is not bad but the point is that I've stopped understanding Sasuke since he decided to kill everyone in Konoha after Madara told him that story...
