[Discussion] Is One Piece worth it ?

i like ONE PIECE, but i really dont think its worth it NOW...!!

Anime is really really slow and unlike Naruto which gets to the point right away, ONE PIECE is just dragging on and on forever.!!

the most annoying part of ONE PIECE is that in every arc there are alot of stories running parallel with one another, and apart from some stories(those including luffy and zoro) others are just extremely lame and tedious to watch.!!

i wouldnt say the earlier episodes were bad, they were mediocre at best.!!

the flare 0f later episodes cascaded the previous episodes and made people think everything was topNotch...!!

i dont see how anybody can watch the previous episodes and say "wow that was amazing"

I don't like the design , the VERY slow story , it has gone on for too long and another few things.

What i do like about it are some of the fighting scenes , the originality and the development

I haven't read most of the manga but i here the anime has alot of filler mixed with canon in the eps.That adds on to the slowness.

Well we shouldn't base a story off of just the anime.The creator deosn't make the anime and we all know how most anime have filler which are mostly bad.

There's a big difference from the EL arc and MF. SA Arc and ID were my favs (for those who don't know they were in between EL and MF)

The earlier eps were good.I really got into OP with Nami's Arc.It was really good.

Also,are you aware of how much filler there was in the first 200 eps?Off the top of my head i remember 54-61(half of 61 was filler) about, 95-103,130-143,196-206.And ofcourse theres filler mixed in with mostly cannon eps.

OP's my 2nd fav anime right now In total i watched about 900 episodes.(Obvoisly counted episodes i rewatched.) I actually enjoyed it more when i rewatched than when i saw it for the first time.I noticed alot more.I saw way more how much foreshadowing there is.

I rewatched most of the eps from 226-current (656),i only skipped the Thriller Bark arc and Marineford,and most filler eps.

I recommend watching eps 1-195 minus filler then 373-the current minus the MF arc (457-489) and most of Fishman island (like 540-575) and read everything else in the manga,and i guess reread the arcs that you watched in the manga whenever you feel like it.

Stop lying to yourself and everyone.OP has far outsold more than any other manga.Look at the list.It out beats everything else by millions for individual volumes that come out and an total.

Nothing else comes close.Do you know why it sells so well? Cause it's good.

Don't be biased.My passion for Naruto is Far above my passion for OP yet i see and have no problem witb the fact that OP far outsells Naruto and everything else.

Anyhow, it's up to you. IMO i mostly ignore the animation quality since its storyplot and comedy are far more interesting, enough for me to watch all of them from 1st ep and counting. Thus, i dare say it gets better. You need a lot, i mean, really A LOT of patience if you're going to be an OP fan, especially, if you've decided to just be its anime-viewer-only (occasional slow pace & all). There are some of our nakama here require three to four tries for them to get into One Piece, so it's not a big surprise if you'll drop it once.

I...don't wanna say this so i'll just state it: most OP haters are a bunch of impatient people.

Stuff sells well, consistently and to many different social groups when it's good, One Piece is the best selling manga of all time by quite a large margin

You will most likely say Justin Bieber and Twilight but than I will reply to you that the best selling music artists are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Michael Jackson and the best selling books are LoTR, le petit prince, a tale of two cities etc

But than again you never even read One Piece properly

OT: yes it's worth it, Skypiea is boring in the anime, way better in the manga, Alabasta is one of the best arcs but there are many much better and much more epic ones so it's your choice

Asking people whether it is good or not is only a Second hand knowledge for you.You won't benefit/loss(may equally or not) anything if you just blindly follows other people's opinions.Onething I can say to you is watch on further & judge for yourself.Worth you ask?In my opinion it is more than worthy.Just watch the remaining ones with Patience & You will enjoy the World of OP.When it gets to Marineford...It is Beast
