How many episodes to watch? Watch all of them.
You don't like the drawing style? Watch it with an open mind. The drawing style is unique, but theres nothing wrong with it.
You can even watch the fillers, the fillers are really good compared to bleach and Naruto fillers.(Just skip the warship arc, right before they enter grand line).

The begining sucks but then it gets better, then it gets better at arlong arc, grandline, alabasta, it gets even better, skypiea gets a little boring and dragged on, the start to the middle of thrillerbark is not watchable, i laid down one piece for a while cuz of that but then forced myself to watch through it and it got better, archipelago arc, kuja tribe,impel down, marineford are all BEAST! I´ve currently finished marineford where luffy is going crazy(oops! Not gonna spoil it)
