No he's not a genius. Itachi is a genius, Sasuke is a genius but not Obito

Yh to bad he didn't have a kkg of some sort but he did work hard enough to take on some great shinobi of today in just taijutsu, she he achieved his goal and became a shinobi.

Nah he just likes other men, like all of the powerful Uchihas. Madara likes the 1st Hokage (doesn't stop talking about the dude). Itachi likes Sasuke (but you see that's incest, hence why he kept his distance from Sasuke all those years) and Sasuke likes absolutely nobody, because he is a crybaby.

Madara persona wasn't hard to fool people with due to him having a mask and a sharingan, not to mention kamui making him seem invincible to others.

If you try and manipulate a kid who's life is already screwed up as is it shouldn't be hard to pull him to the dark side...heck, Madara did it with Obito.

As I said in my 3rd sentence, Sasuke's life was already screwed up. Wasn't too hard to manipulate him.

I'll give you the Konoha invasion, but you can't give him much credit for the way he did it, since he took an infant hostage and kidnapped a woman who had just given birth. You made good points, but sadly they don't prove Obito as a genius.

Well the whole world knew who Uchiha Madara was, so why did they think he required a mask? That would actually lead to people believing he was someone else, especially since Konoha has a huge statue of Madara at the Valley of the End.

There is also more than one dark side. It was Obito getting Sasuke to HIS side that is the point, otherwise Sasuke could have taken that information and used it to fuel some other vendetta, not Obito's goals. There are a few "dark sides" in Naruto.
It's not Zabuza, Orochimaru and Obito on the same side. They each fight for their own ideals. It was Obito getting a highly skilled and dangerous ninja on Itachi's level who wanted to kill the other Uchiha who helped to massacre his clan on HIS side.

It also doesn't matter HOW Obito found out about the intricate knowledge of the ninja world. We only know for sure he knew of the Juubi's history from Madara, and apparently received some training from him. The fact that he knows all this only furthers his intelligence still.
