Curious for any thoughts on those familiar with psychology.

I'm torn on that part, since Hashirama alleges that Madara "deeply cared for his brother". Perhaps Hashirama was his first victim? I'd like that to be true, but knowing Japanese manga we'll get some overly complex "Madara isn't evil, he's just ____".

I desperately want this to be untrue, because I feel that modern manga needs more villainous like Aizen and (current) Madara. The Nagato Uzumaki villain-lite stuffs getting old. If Kishimoto goes with another "misunderstood tragic" villain I'm going to give up on Japanese manga altogether... Which is saying something considering I actually live in Japan.

Flashback / Itachi:

-Madara took Izuna's eyes and said "forgive me". Izuna obviously acted as a narcissistic supply to his elder brother. Whether Madara loved him here isn't clear

Hashirama flashback:

-Madara as a child appears to lack empathy for those outside his family. He sees Hashirama as not worthless but says that there's no way people's true feelings can reach each other

-Madara becomes infuriated immediately that anyone is stronger/smarter than him. Telltale signs of narcs.

The crux here is that Madara does appear to possess some level of psychological empathy. He didn't immediately kill Sakura and he let the Trollkage live without confirming the kill. At the same time he wiped out an entire battalion of fodder just to drag out the leaders. What he did to Obito/Rin shows that he clearly doesn't give a **** about his own clan or murdering children.

At the same time, he didn't kill the extremely weak Onoki. Nor did he confirm kills on Tobirama, Hashirama, Naruto or Sasuke. Seems like fairly huge oversights for someone with a genius level IQ.

As much as I don't want this to be true... I think Madara's well on course to become another "tragic misunderstood" villain. Series is 100% dropped for me at that point..

Madara is not evil, he has a different way of obtaining ''peace''. Orochimaru is a good example of a pure villain,
He is the only 1 who experiment for the cause of getting stronger and killing for no reason. the only thing he
wants is to master all jutsu, and he is ready to do anything for his goal.

When he was revived he talked about cracking skulls and enjoying it, so yes he is a sociopath.

He is definitely a sociopath. A narcissistic sociopath to boot. Spending all of those years by himself healing from the VOTE fight planning and plotting shows how anti-social he is. The reason he hasn't killed more people than he has is only because he thinks they are too far beneath him to bother with. If someone gets between him and something he needs to get done he will get rid of them, but most people are just pawns to be used or not worth bothering with to him.

I don't think he has any regard for the welfare of others, not even for those of his clan. He never once said anything to Obito for helping Itachi to wipe out their clan. The fact that there is only three Uchiha left doesn't seem to bother him in the least. It doesn't seem to matter to him if he has to kill the other 2 Uchiha to further his goal.

I do not even believe peace means anything to him anymore. Only having the power to force his will on other people seems to matter to him now.

This.

Madara is only vieing for peace because subconcously, he wants to believe that he still has a sliver of decency left. But that's just a lie he tells himself. He is a completely evil psychopath.

Believe so, most are often powerful and do not regard others and only go towards self gain, just like Madara. Would be interesting if it's confirmed so they'll be a reason for Madara to be killed as he wont be talk no jutsu'd
