Since we haven't seen Zoro go all out, using your gut instinct how far would you say the gap is between Luffy and Zoro?

If we use our foresight, they're both going to be Yonko level. Luffy for obvious reasons and Zoro because he's destined to become the worlds greatest swordsman, a title which places him on Mihawk's level who is >= Shanks. Also if we use hindsight, at the beginning of the series they were hovering around the same level and sparred evenly on Whiskey peak. They've both gotten way stronger together, but Luffy is still obviously the stronger man.

I've seen people say that Luffy's now way stronger than Zoro but considering what we've seen before, and where they're both destined to end up power wise, what would you say is the current gap between the two?

I wouldn't say a lot stronger in terms of strength or armament haki, however Luffy has superior observation that I don't think Zoro is going to be able to get a finishing blow in.
Luffy also has shown much faster speed, which Zoro has given us nothing to show that he could cope with it.

In terms of raw power and endurance, not by any significant margin. But with Luffy's new future sight and his far superior speed i say yeah since Zoro may not even be able to touch him.

I haven't seen Zoro struggle yet and now we know that Luffy trained in the island to be as strong as Dogtooth or a little stronger. Maybe Zoro would be able to stalemate Jack or something???

And I'm sure we will... It would seriously be bad writing to put such a character in that scenario and him not show us what he's got. It would be like Usopp going to the land of the giants and still being a coward (please Oda don't pull that shit!)

But the gap shouldn't be minimal. If Zoro had speed to him, he would have cut down Pica a lot sooner. He clearly doesn't have the speed to match Luffy and that's where he'll lose.

he was taking it easy aganist pica we all knoe it but it true he cant match luffy speed but speed alone doesnt determine how wide the gap is

Look at it this way,

Luffy was trained by Rayleigh a swordsman for two years

Zoro was trained by mihawk the world's strongest swordsman

I'd say Luffy will always be stronger sure, don't come at me but before Luffy just defeated katakuri, I'd say they were equal

Zoro grew more in the training, but Luffy was stronger to begin with

Now Luffy is obviously stronger again, but I'd say Zoro currently = Luffy without future sight

Zoro has no diffd everyone in the Manga post ts. Even made Neptune his b

My opinion is that the difference in power is the same as it was pre time skip, Luffy is stronger but by a small margin. I believe they've grown equally over the time skip but since Luffy was always stronger, he maintains that little advantage over Zoro.

Zoro was trained by the stronger person, it would make sense he grew more if I'm not mistaken. Both are swordsman, and mihawk is the world's strongest

So mihawk > Rayleigh

You're not making sense. How can you compare their growth when Luffy isn't a swordsman to begin with, you're making a simplistic and irrational conclusion. Luffy based his training around his devil fruit and developed 3 types of Haki. If Luffy was a swordsman you may have a point, but he's not. Luffy's extremely creative and somewhat trained himself, which is something you cannot overlook.

Pretty much this to what you just said... What retarded reasoning... Luffy wasn't trained by Rayleigh in the same way Zoro was by Mihawk. He also wasn't trained by Rayleigh for the whole 2 years, which hasn't been the same indication for Zoro. Their training was so different that you can't compare the two styles of trainings to come to the simple conclusion of one result being better than the other.

Using a sword is completely irrelevant in one scenario, so you can't go off of who's the stronger swords master, their pupil is the strongest because that's not the pupils same strength.

Luffy trained his haki extensively from Rayleigh as he furthered his devil fruit powers by himself.

Forget about Luffy's improved CoO, he's already showed better feats in that area than Zoro so he doesn't even need his new power up for Zoro.
Speed doesn't determine the winner, like with Doffy, speed with no power just doesn't cut it. But Luffy has both, especially with G4. Zoro just can't handle that speed and you know G4 packs a punch that can put him down.

Zoro fanboys just need to sit and wait for Zoro's display in Wano before they start spouting Zoro >= to Luffy :lmao:

Luffy is far stronger for a few reasons his haki is stronger and in gear forth zoro isnt cutting him so basically he's fucked he hasn't shown any melee skills. For ppl saying zoro was trained by a better teacher is slow. Rayleigh is stronger than mihawk and a better teacher. Luffy also fought against top tier ppl in marineford on amazon island he went through way more "training" then zoro. Zoro isn't beating no commander in no yonko crew anyone thinking otherwise needs to stop

Some of you are insane.

Zoro has no answer to Gear Fouth, it's the speed of gear second and the power of third. Fast enough to catch Doflamingo off guard and durable enough to swallow Cracker's sword without losing a drop of blood.

Zoro has shown nothing that comes close to that in both speed or power. The only thing I keep reading is "He hasn't gone all out" But we also don't know if he has 5% left or 50%.
