As we saw before, Minato sealed the Yin half of Kurama's chakra away.

Does this mean that Kurama is only half as powerful as before?

yeeaaa..no.Chakra regenerates.At the moment that much chakra to be sealed in a baby was too much,so he had to cut it in half i suppose.

We don't actually know. And just as it wasn't for Orochimaru, it's obvious that victims that survive the Dead Demon Seal don't get away from the Death god and can just regenerate what they lost. Until we're notified otherwise, we can't say it has its Yin chakra back. =/

Chakra regenerates, yes. But this is a different case.

Normally chakra is transformed and used as jutsu, but in this case we are talking about Tailed Beasts and chakra being sealed. Minato ripped out half of Kurama's whole being and sealed it.

Let me make a couple of analogies:

You know how the Silver/Gold Brothers had some of Kurama's chakra. That chakra didn't regenerate to form a whole new Kurama.

Same thing with Sora, even though he had some of Kurama's chakra it didn't regenerate to form another Kurama.


I guess you could say chakra is like a bar.

Normal usage of chakra just drains that bar, but it eventually recovers back to max chakra. But the huge sealing of chakra that Minato performed permanently decreases the max chakra.

I agree that Kyuubi is at half strength. But just to point something out, look really closely at the first image on the page:

Kurama's hand is in a crater of what used to be his hand. Look how much larger it is, not twice as large but about 10x as large.

I think this was just an over-exaggeration on Kishi's part, but it makes me think, is it possible that Minato sealed more of the Kyuubi's chakra than he thought?

But I digress, its simplest to just say he's at half, i think most people would agree with that.

Chakra is energy, lost energy can be replace, all you need is full to created more energy,it has ben stated that if a host let say dies in battle away from anyone who can transfer the tail beast, the tail beast simply retunes to its home dimension and ones it build up enough chakra it breaks back to our dimension, So Kishi has set up conditions for the Kurama to be back at full power.

I'm pretty sure that Tailed Beasts aren't inter-dimensional aliens.

It would make sense that his chakra would recover if it weren't sealed.

It surely couldn't be as simple as that to recover something taken by the Death God. Minato traded his soul in order to seal half of Kurama, if it was that easy to recover then the trade of his soul isn't really balanced, which isn't how these things work. Most of the time it's a fair trade.

I thought so at first, but come to think of it, chakra replenishes, kinda like how anorexic kurama got nice and plump agains after feeding off of naruto's chakra
