Is Kisame a better water style user than the 2nd Hokage?

I'd put money on the fact he was the best in Konoha, and probably the entire fire nation with water techniques. But against a man that studied water style techniques for his entire life? I'm not sure.
But again he can hold his own against water users because he doesnt need to overexert himself with water style techniques in places where water is scarce, whereas a water shinobi would.

if the 1st hokage made the village with his jutsu. maybe the 2nd hokage supplied water with his jutsu

Granted while Kisame is a very good water user I still think that tobimara is the better water wielder. While It's true that we don't much about a lot of the Characters Kisame is limited to what he can create, while Tobimara can just form it out of no where, He could perform water-style techniques in areas that lacked bodies of water by creating his own water out of thin air!! Kisame can't do that, at least not that I know of. So I really think that everyone is entitled to their opinion but Paulsama is spot on

Firstly we barely saw what the 2nd can do whilst we saw a lot more of kisame even though I'm certain that he had more tech's up his sleeves.

If it comes down to who can create the most water and turn the battlefield into their fortress then this feat goes to kisame, not only because of his insane chakra reserve but also he is extremely effective when he fuses with samahada.

A testament of tobirama's skill in suiton jutsu's is the fact that he can not only gather moisture in air to aid him produce relatively large quantities of water, but also he can perfrom the seals with one hand.

I say they are equal in terms of skill/effectiveness of suiton jutsu's. Might even give the edge to kisame

Using a videogame as an example is not exactly accurate.

With that being said, I don't understand why people are even arguing in this thread. We don't have enough information on the 2nd Hokage's Water Jutsus and from what we saw (Hiruzen vs Orochimaru w/ First and Second Hokage) I would say that Kisame's water techniques are more impressive, but since we haven't exactly seen Tobirama do more water techs. it's hard to tell.

Your argument holds no substance at all, if a game is your solid argument.
The games, like the anime are not made by kishi therefore they can invent random moves for characters we haven't had enough info on by kishi.

What you said imo is just as bad as using one of the anime's filler character's abilities as your argument

Madara never said he fought edo tensei before so you have no proof. When Madara had supposedly died against the Hashirama the 2nd hokage was probably too young to have created the tech.
He couldve created the tech before madara leaving the village thus another way of explaining why Madara knows about the tech.

So I just proved that the 2nd hokage couldnt use it to the extent Orochimaru used it. If he could then Orochimaru wouldnt have had to complete the technique.

Also even if he could use edo tensei like Orochimaru he banned it himself. He wouldnt even use it when he knows he is going to die. Ch.481 pg.8 he obviously died during that chapter so he didnt use edo tensei.

So that proves he wont ever use it in battle or he knows it would be a waste of time cause he cant use it at full potential probably not at all seeing that he did die.


So.... tell me what proof do you have that he could fully use edo tensei.

ok i literally just made an account for topics like this. hear me out people. the 2nd hokage and kisame are in a different time line, if you haven't realized yet people in current naruto world are adapting quicker and learning moves and abiities much quicker. 2nd was best water user in his time no doubt, and kisame is a damn well water user too in current time. there's no way to see who's better. it's like the ongoing dispute between michael jordan and lebron james. which is basketbal for those who don't no...

If the 2nd could make super high-level and powerful water techs with just the moisture in the air imagine the power if he conjured actual water! If Kisame uses his Suiton: Explosive Water Shockwave to make a large lake of water, both users could use it to their advantage. However, Tobirama using actual water rather than moisture in the air this time? Think about it.

Kisame and Tobirama Senju are both very powerful water style users. Both are on another level beyond what we have seen in the series so far. Its basically all up to who can utilize their battle strengths better than the other. Tobirama with his powerful jutsus vs Kisame and his advantageous battle style.

First of all we know don't know a lot from what the second hokage can do, to say he can win is overrating, overestimate his skills. Now it depends on how you define water skills. The second hokage was known to make water where there was no water. He could create it from the moisture in the air to fight, and he was able to create unique hand sign for it. As seen from the anime all he had to was clap his hands together to make a jutsu.

Kisame can't not achieve that feat, but nonetheless can make large amount of water from his mouth to fight. Kisame uses large amount of water to fight, but the same fact was never said for the second hokage. In water-based skills Kisame takes this. We haven't seen much from the second to come to conclusion. Creating water from moisture is a big feat, but does not say anything of how strong are your skills using it. We've seen Kisame fight before, and we can't lie he's the best water user in the series so far.

Do not confuse feats with skills, due to Kisame's big reservoir of chakra he can create an ocean-like body of water. Kisame fights best in water, so it would be hard taking him out with his own strength.
