stored in him? or does he make it? It just seems weird that he'd have metal in his body, but the way it shines makes me think it's neither mochi nor mochi coated with haki.

If it's in his body, do you think Luffy can do a sweeping kick on Kata that covers all of his body horizontally and make the trident tear through kata's body in the process?

I do think it's in there and it looks like a real spear, not made out of mochi. However his body behaves like a semi-logia that can soften bodyparts at will, but also harden it to the point he has crazy defense.

I don't think Luffy has the power kick through his body like you could do with a normal logia and hit nothing. But even if he did the spear wouldn't be covered in haki and since it has no problem with being in his body. nothing would happen and the spear would just end up out of his body.
