Kakshi is probably not akatsuki level. Akatsuki consists of people with extraoridinary powers and jutsus. Sasori was a puppet master that practically invented puppet style. Deidara's body ingested clay and made it into bombs. Kisame is a sharklike humanoid with a nearly infinite chakra reserve and a chakra eating sword. Tobi is a space-time contorting, half-immortal. Hidan is an immortal. Kakuzu has multiple hearts. Pein has Rinnegan, the supposed most powerful eye justu. Konan... wtf does she do again? Orochimaru warped himself to where he's barely human. Itachi was basically the only "normal" shinobi and he had MS. Itachi being the measure we're going by here, I'd have to say that yes, as of right now, kakashi is akatsuki level but going by the rest of those freaks, no.

if that's what you mean then ill have to disagree itachi could own kakashi in less then 5 minutes his mangekyo abilties are way better than kakashi's and his taijutsu is better than kakshi's

I'd have to say he's almost at Itachi's level. Of course, akatsuki doesn't really have a sign with an arrow saying "You must be this good to get in". What I'm saying is that, though Itachi is ridiculously powerful, Kakashi has his own quirks that would elevate him to akatsuki status.

I would have to say he is at that level, kakashi has the respect of all the ninja he crosses. kakashi is a ninja of timing he does not truly attack unless he has all the facts. I think we are playing him really short because he has not be able to hit Pain yet but that has not been his goal yet, he is learning the ability's of his enemy now. To say he is not on akatsuki's level is crazy. Itachi yes was powerful but kakashi has not had to fight all out in a long time. kakashi is one of the most powerful ninja in the leaf, even j-man thinks he will be kage on day.

kakashi also has thousands of justu, thanks to that eye, but he can keep pain busy once he finds the right mix. Kakashi will not defeat pain but can stall until naruto arrives.

Lastly for all those how like akatsuki its only because their evil, they do the things you can't count on good guys to do be. (like kill with ease, and destroy things without worry) evil is their appeal. If kakashi was evil he would create big problems like any of the previous akatsuki members.

so are you saying itachi was the weakest member of akatsuki??????? that cant be right...right???

and as for kakashi being akatsuki level...dont really know, he could have beaten deidara if he got his ms down, konan we dont know yet, cuz she has barely shown any moves and for the rest NO WAY!!!.
