It seems that Kaguya is also a good character following the wrong path for achieving something good as she understands that from the inside, Madara is evil but Obito isn't.

So, if Obito had been successful in casting IT, would Kaguya have taken over him?

Obito was madara's puppet. And The first thing madara said was you learned to manipulate people didnt you stop to think you were being manipulated.

Then Kayuga did the same to madz
Obito Did the same to Nagato.
