Is Itachi overrated?

Let me start out by saying that Itachi is easily one of the smartest shinobi in Naruto. This in turn, grants him a huge advantage with his already overwhelming techniques. If his techniques were given to a less intelligent shinobi, they wouldn't be utilized as well as Itachi could utilize them. Speaking of techniques, lets look at some of them.
-Susanoo
-Amaterasu
-Tsukuyomi
-Genjutsu in general
Itachi is great with all of these techniques. Hand in hand with his intelligence, he proves to be an incredible fighter when fought one on one.

Here is where I draw the line with him though. These techniques grant him amazing power in one on one matches, but against numbers, Itachi wouldn't do all too well.
Looking at a good amount of the Itachi vs [Insert Ninja] threads, I get an idea that the other person is usually at a huge disadvantage due to Itachi's genjutsu let alone his other techniques. However, these same genjutsu techniques would prove almost useless against numbers.

Any fight Itachi has had in the manga where he absolutely owned the other person were one on one fights for the most part. Fanboys like to hype Itachi for this reason, he can defeat a lot of people one on one pretty easily.

However, Itachi doesn't rank too high for being able to attack multiple people efficiently, especially when most of his techniques single out one enemy.

I have a feeling that a lot of ninja could do better fighting against multiple people than Itachi could, and this is why I feel Itachi is a bit overrated.

The entire point of my argument was, ems Madara would probably carry a much, much, much higher chance in taking out a lot of shinobi at once than Itachi. Itachi only carries a godly reputation because of his abilities in one on one fights. Against numbers, I don't see how he is all that great. :noc:

but i have seen people saying itachi and minato
defeats bm naruto,nagato s06p and every op char in narutoverse

I don't think he is overrated but some people overate him a bit to much. I think he is even more powerful when he is fighting multiple people because of his Amaratsu and Sasuno'o. If Itachi is fighting 6 people, and he burns someone, 1 or 2 people need to focus or heal the guy. They'll notice after a minute that the flames are going to burn the guy until he's dust. Itachi is invincible against everyone except for Edo Madara, Naruto, Hashirama. Only people I could of thought about.

He isn't overrated, itachi is pretty good at taijutsu too as we saw in sasuke's flashback, he knocked the uchiha police force out in less than a minute. The other part being when he's practicing the kunai throwing and sasuke sees him. And there is one where even orochimaru sees him training and is amazed. He even got his kunai to a target on his blindspot. Thus we can not completely knock off itachi and claim that he cant stand against numbers

yea i see what ur saying but who's to say he doesnt have something up his sleeve still he's probably capable of mass tsukuyomi where he can use it on large groups and even if he doesnt, susanoo takes out a lot of ppl at once especially his since it specializes in attacking AND defending because of its weapons im jus sayin u never really know his full extent jus like how he pulled izanami out of his ass but yea no one really mastered genjutsu to a point where they can manipulate time more than him and u gotta remember this is like the face of the uchiha clan we're comparing itachi to so of course madara is gonna have abusive moves that can slaughter groups since he was always at war with hasirama and the rest of his clan
