Sasuke was 7 when Itachi killed as his clan members. Nowhere is it said that Sasuke was youngest. In these 7 years many younger Uchiha must also have been born, who would have been younger than Sasuke. So Itachi would have killed many newborns or toddlers of 1-2 years old. I mean what kind of sick person does that ? For any reason
Yes. I think Itachi killed children.
When you defeat an enemy, it was (in history) deemed common sense and practical to kill not just one man - but his children (sons) as well, in case of revenge etc.
In the manga we see that (outside of the massacre) with Pein slaughtering any of Hanzo's relations (likely his sons) and any associated with him.
In our own history infantcide has been (and still is in places) common and widespread.
I think ANBU killed kids on orders - assassinating entire families or clans, would make sense and I'd imagine it would be requested of ninja villages to carry out missions like it.
It's a bit foolish to put modern views upon a fictional universe that specialises in chibi-ninja. Their kids were taught to kill, they killed their enemies (made up of 'children' also), I doubt killing fodder kids was considered much of an issue.
I don't (unlike some people) think the Uchiha Clan was devoid of children with the exception of Sasuke Uchiha.
Nor do I believe that Obito killed the Uchiha children for Itachi during the massacre either.
