Whenever someone is dicussing a battle with a jinchuriki you cant help but think how good of a ninja would they be without the tailed beast. Many people do not even consider the ninja as one entity and therefore they cant possibly "solo." So lets see what side we should take on this.
For the notion
There are two different minds within this one person as we have seen. The tailed beast might be giving directions to the host in which case the host doesnt deserve credit for "soloing". There are two different chakra sources. Not only does the user have access to his chakra he has access to the tailed beasts vast chakra. So are two different chakra reserves considered one?(not likely). Tailed beasts have saved the user in the past.

Against the notion
The jinchuriki utilizes the tailed beast chakra with they're own. If a tailed beast counts as an added element to the user's arsenal how come weapons such as samehda aren't considered as another entity. People who weren't born with their abilities such as kakashi and his sharingan should also be stripped of their powers and not be considered for solo threads as well. It takes skill to control a tailed beasts in the first place so they are deserving of credit in their battles.

Conclusion. It was a hard desicion for me but i had to go with the first option. Jinchuriki cannot solo. Its not because the tailed beast can save them or watever its because you can actually seperate them into TWO different characters. They have TWO different chakra reserves, TWO different minds, and in a sense they have TWO different bodies. They can go full tailed beast mode and then when the tailed beast gets tired they go back to their own form. Kakashi's eye cannot stand on its own it is not a seperate entity with a seperate mind. If having a tailed beast was more along these lines i would say they should be considered as one person, but a fact no one can deny is a jinchuriki is two people.

Tailed beasts provide the huge chakra. It is up to the host to utilise the chakra in the best way possible....

Eh nice idea for a thread but it is teamwork. Neither are there voluntarily and Naruto earned Bijuu Mode just as much as he earned the rest of his powerups, I mean- he did work 16 years for this one.

Actually, I'd say being a Jinchuuriki falls more into the 'Kekkei Genkai' category.

The Bijuu is basically a Jinchuuriki's tool just as the Sharingan is a tool for the Uchiha. If you want to say a Jinchuuriki cannot 'solo' because of what they are, then that should also be said about Blood line users. Because, the fact of the matter is they do not use strictly Shinobi techniques, they have to use abilities they were born lucky to receive over others.

So yeah, Jinchuuriki can solo. Naruto pre falls of truth training with Sage Mode could solo. Infact he's at a disadvantage seeing as Kurama at the time would work against Naruto rather than with him.

Yugito was said to be one of the strongest Kumo ninja even without her Bijuu. And Yagura was a freakin' Kage.

Your logic is flawed. And next time, space it out more I'm sick of reading walls of text.

I see your point but people who were born with their abilities can say those are their abilities alone, jinchuriki actually have two minds. Its actually two people. Thats the only reason i say they cant solo. Even one of the posts says teamwork and according to my logic a team is more than one person. Definition of solo is an act done with one person. Correct me if im wrong but naruto and bee arent just having convo's with themselves.

If Akamaru and Giant talking Summoning toads are counted as someones own power then a giant demon fox involuntarily trapped inside you DEFINITELY COUNTS.

Going by that logic. Madara, Sasuke, Nagato and Obito can't solo either because they received the majority of their abilities from other people.

It's a mute point no matter which way you try to rationalize it. Cut Naruto off from Kurama and he'll thrash his opponents in Sage Mode. Cut Bee off from Gyuki and he'll still whip Sasuke in a straight up fight just as he done when Taka attacked him.

Never said they was weak without them my man(look at gaara) i just said as far as being counted as one entity they are not. If the tailed beast were more like spirirts who didnt speak or think on their own i would definetly see them as one person. Half the time jinchuriki are strong without the tailed beast cuz u cant be a fodder controlling a tailed beast anyway.

But it isn't the same as a Kekkei Genkai. A bloodline and a person are the same. Just like my arm is a part of me. A Bijuu is a separate entity. Different mind, body, soul, and power. They are no more the same than a pregnant mother is the same as her child. As for tools, you are right, but that same can be considered of underlings. Haku was zabuza's tool. But if he and Haku fought, it would be two on one.

To OP: I'm going to say yes and no. A Jinchuriki who receives no help from their Bijuu can solo. However, in the case where they do receive help, is it to be considered different from the summoning technique, or Kiba with Akamaru or Shino with his bugs? It is in the strictest sense help, but it is allowed one on one in the Narutoverse and so they can solo. But at the same time it is like receiving help from another person, and that isn't soloing. Kinda confusing.

I see jinchuuriki as a wild-card type ability.

It doesn't qualify under other categories. I don't connect it to kekkei genkai because the thing inside is most definitely a sapient being with its own personality and power. But if the being contracts its power out and someone uses it, I consider it just as much a ninja tool as anything else.

Much like the ems, something had to happen in order to use that power, but once that "something" (implanting the eyes) is completed then that power is now yours.

But I can see why others would have other opinions.

Again, those abilities or not persons. They are just tools. A jinchuriki is like two people fighting in the same body.

I would have to agree with the OP. Under the definition of a solo two people cannot be counted as 1, so therefore a perfect jinchuriki who relies on their bijuu for assistance cannot possibly solo.

I honestly am not seeing your point.

Every ninja has their advantages, kekkei genkai, tools, etc.

Jinchuriki that have tamed their Bijuu or any jin in general does count

By your logic Sasuke, All Uchiha, Hyuuga, people from Juugo's clan/village, Nagato, they all got power from someone/something else, so you can't say some random crap about there being "two minds".

BS, all ninja's have their own power and advantages. Deidara uses clay, he is nothing without it. But the clay is his power, he uses it. A jinchuriki doesn't just rely on his/her Bijuu, but their Bijuu is part of their power.

The thread isn't about whether or not one is useless with a Bijuu, or whatever other power they have, or even if their power can be counted as their own. It is about whether or not a Jinchuriki can solo, since they are technically two beings.

Yea he is nothing without his OWN ability. A jinchuriki is actually two beings you know what I mean. They are like ninja versions of Yugi. LOL, Deidara's clay is not a being neither are sharingans, or kekkeai genkai's. Unless you trying to tell me a lava release is a living being on its own. lol. according to MY LOGIC and Websters dictionary's logic two beings cant solo thats my point.

thats one way of looking at i can see your point there. But that might actually support my point. Lets say they do extract the beast the host dies but the beast doesnt, how come they both dont die? cuz they are two different people. But its very arguable.

yes it can because if a jinchuuriki dies the bijuu also dies meaning its one and same entity
