is hidan still alive?

Can he die from hunger? How do we know that? I think if he were dead Kabuto would have resurected him with the rest of the Akatsuki members. That leads me to believe he is alive under there, just unable to get out.

According to Naurto.wikia his status is "Incapacitated", all other Akatsuki members that died, their status is "deceased". So I guess he is alive according to them.

Funny thing Konan's and Orochimaru's status is also not "Deceased", but "Defected".... Still alive?

i have read that. i believe he is immortal but to stay immortal he must sacrifice to jashin and if he doesnt for a while he will be come mortal which will eventually lead to his death if someone hasnt gone to find him yet.

He's immortal. The death pact he made with Jashin allows him to live through anything so long as Hidan continues to kill in his name. Hidan will eventually die because he has no way of killing anybody through the ritual, which is breaking the contract with him and Jashin and he'll die. As for now he's alive, with no body, no air, crushed under immense preassure. The torture he's going through is enough to level him unconcious from the mere intensity to the point he's not even feeling it. Either that or he's still concious and his mental being can't handle the stress and he's going insane underground. He's probably praying for death now (ironic isn't it)

I believe hidan would still be alive, just trapped under all the rubble in the pit he was trapped within by shikamaru.
