1. Is it wrong because its unnatural?
I would argue that something being unnatural is not basis for it being wrong or bad. I think one of the things that makes us special as humans is that we exceed our base, natural inclinations. If we just adhered to natural inclinations we;d be no more than beasts. We specialize in surpassing the natural.
2. Is it because its unhealthy?
I would argue that for some people its the most healthy and intelligent decision. I'm kind of a pragmatist and I apply that to happiness. One must make intelligent decisions based on one's current situation including their emotional state.
if you find happiness, enjoyment, fulfillment, if it helps you get through life, then what is wrong with it? Not a rhetorical question. Finding out what the flaws of the things you enjoy are what factor into an intelligent decision.
This leads to the next question
3. What makes a real personality different from an artificial one?
From what I've seen, Ultimately personalities, including our own are products of the mind. A bunch of traits that our mind files under the category of a particular person based on observation. One cannot understand another person's mind. Its impossible. Some people do not even understand themselves We construct personality within our own minds. Therefore all personalities are artificial. Its not even something corporeal.
3. So what are the negative consequences of having a waifu?
It doesn't help with reproduction? We as a species do not really need to reproduce right now. We're overpopulated in fact. Some people just aren't fit for caring for a child. I don't see why this is a problem unless you want a child.
It doesn't allow you to enjoy life? Not really. It can be the exact opposite in fact. It does not have to limit anyone's enjoyment. Limiting oneself is a separate issue.
Its not real? Its as real as any other product of the mind, I say. Thoughts, beliefs, emotions, hopes, dreams, creative endeavors... One could argue we are nothing without these, because withou them, life doesn't really have much to offer, does it? I'd say the love is as real as any other. One never really loves a person, but their perception of that person. "The person that exists in their mind. " The reciprocated feelings are ,ore questionable. This depends on your definition of real which is a whole different can of worms.
It discourages natural romantic relationships? So what? It serves the same function aside from reproduction, which isn't necessarily needed.
It discourages other forms of human interaction? not necessarily This is a separate problem from having a waifu. Once can have a waifu and also have friends.
Its narcissistic? True. It is essentially loving one's own imagination. But the imagination is something us humans are born with and need. I personally think this can be fine as far as encouraging a form of independence. Ultimately one must love to deal with oneself. Over reliance on others breeds weakness. However it is a legit problem if one only finds meaning in themselves. They are limiting themselves and it also breeds weakness. Like all things one must have balance.
It can hurt your reputation? Not to those that matter. Not as long as you practice situational awareness.
5. Do people who dislike waifus also dislike deities of any kind? Why or why not? What is the difference?
I would argue that its the exact same thing with the exact same concept and the same motivations behind it. Especially if one considers christianity, which is literally a relationship with a being who's existence is based in art. Literally the same concept as a waifu.. But my waifu doesn't tell me to kill or to subjugate others. It does not require me to give up my free will. That is why I like waifus but dislike deities
