I wanted to show this person's post who says that Waifus are Good :-

1. Is it wrong because its unnatural?

I would argue that something being unnatural is not basis for it being wrong or bad. I think one of the things that makes us special as humans is that we exceed our base, natural inclinations. If we just adhered to natural inclinations we;d be no more than beasts. We specialize in surpassing the natural.

2. Is it because its unhealthy?

I would argue that for some people its the most healthy and intelligent decision. I'm kind of a pragmatist and I apply that to happiness. One must make intelligent decisions based on one's current situation including their emotional state.

if you find happiness, enjoyment, fulfillment, if it helps you get through life, then what is wrong with it? Not a rhetorical question. Finding out what the flaws of the things you enjoy are what factor into an intelligent decision.

This leads to the next question

3. What makes a real personality different from an artificial one?

From what I've seen, Ultimately personalities, including our own are products of the mind. A bunch of traits that our mind files under the category of a particular person based on observation. One cannot understand another person's mind. Its impossible. Some people do not even understand themselves We construct personality within our own minds. Therefore all personalities are artificial. Its not even something corporeal.

3. So what are the negative consequences of having a waifu?

It doesn't help with reproduction? We as a species do not really need to reproduce right now. We're overpopulated in fact. Some people just aren't fit for caring for a child. I don't see why this is a problem unless you want a child.

It doesn't allow you to enjoy life? Not really. It can be the exact opposite in fact. It does not have to limit anyone's enjoyment. Limiting oneself is a separate issue.

Its not real? Its as real as any other product of the mind, I say. Thoughts, beliefs, emotions, hopes, dreams, creative endeavors... One could argue we are nothing without these, because withou them, life doesn't really have much to offer, does it? I'd say the love is as real as any other. One never really loves a person, but their perception of that person. "The person that exists in their mind. " The reciprocated feelings are ,ore questionable. This depends on your definition of real which is a whole different can of worms.

It discourages natural romantic relationships? So what? It serves the same function aside from reproduction, which isn't necessarily needed.

It discourages other forms of human interaction? not necessarily This is a separate problem from having a waifu. Once can have a waifu and also have friends.

Its narcissistic? True. It is essentially loving one's own imagination. But the imagination is something us humans are born with and need. I personally think this can be fine as far as encouraging a form of independence. Ultimately one must love to deal with oneself. Over reliance on others breeds weakness. However it is a legit problem if one only finds meaning in themselves. They are limiting themselves and it also breeds weakness. Like all things one must have balance.

It can hurt your reputation? Not to those that matter. Not as long as you practice situational awareness.

5. Do people who dislike waifus also dislike deities of any kind? Why or why not? What is the difference?

I would argue that its the exact same thing with the exact same concept and the same motivations behind it. Especially if one considers christianity, which is literally a relationship with a being who's existence is based in art. Literally the same concept as a waifu.. But my waifu doesn't tell me to kill or to subjugate others. It does not require me to give up my free will. That is why I like waifus but dislike deities

To have a waifu is just a fun thing to do. Some people take it to the extreme levels but normal people, like myself, just watches an anime and sees x girl and when we get to know about her past, what her goal is and what kind of people she likes to hang out then it will make me decide if she's a waifu or not. Every anime has its waifus, some of them are not like the case of school days.

It's sad, having a waifu paints the picture of a man who can't get a real woman so he has to resort to fictional ones, plus.. it's not even real, lol... nothing can will ever replace the relationship you will get with a real woman/man. I can understand if you're an introvert or antisocial, but even then, people like those don't resort to such things.

Well, if you take it to the extreme like buying pillows and that shit, that's one thing but having fun with your m8's in a video game like me for example that's another. So, it's fine as long as you don't take it to the extreme and be weird about it :bdpf:

Yes, since the training course taught me to audit and secure today’s wireless devices. I can also identify existing vulnerabilities in wireless networks. Plus, WiFu taught me to execute organized attacks in a controlled and focused manner.

Just the fact that he admitted he has to practice situational awareness shows that having a waifu isn't something to be proud of, which in turn shows that it's not natural and certainly not good. If you're concerned about showing your significant other off to the people you know, then you're obviously in an unhealthy relationship, if it can even be called that since it's not a real person. There are countless fictional works by this point that show how bad it is to spend too much time in a virtual/fictional world as opposed to the real world with real face-to-face interactions with people. And coming from someone whose early years rendered him socially crippled, I would die for a real romance or a real longstanding friendship before I conjure up one with my favorite anime characters. Like alcoholism, don't let it consume your life and blind you from the truth that everyone DOES look down on you for it. It's just sick, man.

There is a huge correlation between having a waifu and being a f*cking degenerate.

A lot of people use it as a kind of joke to state how much they are a fan of a female character and that's fine but anything more, it's safe to assume you're a degenerate.

Having a waifu makes literally no sense to begin with, as the character is completely devoid from reality and is animated, it's cringey as hell to watch people snuggle their waifu pillows to oblivion. I deem it unnecessary and completely unnatural.

Imagine me drawing a character, providing it a one dimensional personality, and some random dude falls in love with it to the point they think its real enough, the sound of it alone is making me wanna gag my internals out. It's like a childs mentality usually below age 4, who can't discern that well and snuggle their teddy bears and consider them real, but these are grown man and fail to actually realize and discern fiction.
