Is Gai Top Ten?

I read this in two different threads and I disagree. He has feats yes but his greatest attack is a suicide attack.

I dont even think he's top 20. There are many other more well-rounded characters. Taijtutsu is great but it cant defeat all ninjutsu

No he's not top 10 cause the 8th gate should be disregarded, but yeah I say he's in the top 20. 7th gate was enough to briskly hit madara and push him back a little and that's Madara Sama

Kill your opponent but die using the power to do so.

I count 7 gate gai which is def in the top 20.

If the 8 gates wasnt a suicide, then I would put him in the top ten. Because it is a suicide move, I will put him in the top 20.

A top ten is about power. Who has the most of it. To deny Guy's power because its maximum kills him is wrong.

If Gai wins first then die due to feedback. I would say Gai wins the VS battle. I don't care about after what happens since Gai would defeat his opponent. It's not same as Deidra suicide attack, cuz he dies same time as he casts jutsu.

It doesnt really matter how long after he dies. He still dies. That makes it same category as Deidara in terms of consequences

I'm not calling Gai weak but come on....there is a lot of ninjutsu in NV that's way too OP for someone who's limited to taijutsu

You can't discount an ability or mode just because of the consequences. That being said idk. He's probably close if we disclude all the SO6P family stuff, but if we don't hes not. Kaguya, Hagaromo, Hamaru, Indra,Ashura,Madara,Hashirama,Naruto and Sasuke all take spots in the top ten before we even get to anyone else.

But if we get rid of Hagaromo's direct family, he might be a fringe top 10 canidate. He is best taijutsu specialist in NV and Footspeed is unmatched.
