[Discussion] Is Gaara stronger than he was when he was a Jinchuuriki?

Gaara's dad was certain Gaara used the Shukaku, which is a huge compliment in itself.You saw the shock in his face when Gaara showed up, and he even said that his hands had gotten stronger.

All this brings me too how much did Gaara really grow?

Do you remember the Shukaku's size and those air bullets he fired at Gamabunta. Gaara was definately stronger with all of the chakra the Shukaku gave him.

its not that he's stronger without the shukaku, he has just trained to become stronger but he is still nowhere near being stronger than a tailed beast

Yeah, I think he's on Shukaku's level which is itself an amazing feat.
There are some jinchuuriki that mastered their TB but Gaara is one who is on par level despite his Bijuu being extracted from him.
That's why he's awesome. There's a different aura whenever a chapter is Gaara-centered though. It's mystique and so epic. See this one or the one he makes a speech or when he gives a lesson to Onoki or the Kimimaro fight ect...All are on an awesome level.

Actually i think saying he is nowhere near a tailed beast is incorrect raikage can have strength on the eight tailed level *proven by his huge chakra and ability to bitch slap killer bee* i dont think its far fetched to say gaara is now stronger then shukaku technically the weakest of the tailed beasts

It's hard to tell from just that chapter. There's no doubt that Gara's own power has increased, but he doesn't appear to have any moves to suggest he is stronger than the one tail. Still, he was bloody awsome in the latest chapter.

He is a lot smarter in my opinion also it was never really shown that his power was shukaku's other then part 1 i never seen him directly call shukaku's power as his own he never used chakra cloaks and he never seemed to have any actual control on his jinchuriki

I think he is stronger. He can still use the sand techniques that he could when he was a jinchuuriki. Plus, he's trained himself to keep in shape.

Now, this is only speculation, but he may actually sleep now. Gaara should be dead from being an insomniac. In real life, people will die if they don't get enough sleep. That should tell us something about Gaara's will power.

Plus, Gaara's been called a genius, so his part at the Kage Summit and that other meeting before the war suggests his wit.

Gaara seemed determined to prove to his dad, he did not need the shukaku's power and this also gives us a hint that Gaara has become much stronger and that his chakra levels must be off the charts.

You could almost sense that he hates his dad for what he did and you're right the chapters witch focus on him stands out.

You have to look at all the hints kishi is giving us.Firstly, Gaara's dad was a sure he saw the beast acting out, when in fact it was gaara in absolute control.His chakra levels must be high to control all that sand and kishi gave us the talk about the younger generation surpassing the old.Latsly, Gaara looked determined to prove to his dad how powerful he is without the beast.

Each tailed beast seems to have some drawback...

The Kyuubi for example is a douche...



Shukaku gives you insomnia. You can't sleep.... Now ... think back to the beginning of Naruto .. Isn't chakra the combination of mental and physical energy? Hey wait without sleep .. How do you control your mental energy?

He is well rested now so he can think better, he certainly has a better chakra control and he might even have more chakra in total.

I doubt he is stronger than his tailed beast.
Those who reference B or A, remember how much more training each one of them has and how much more skilled they basically are.

Although, I'm not sure if the Tailed-beasts' strength is correlated to how many tails they have. Hrm..
