at first when you here of an expansion it sounds good especially if it is a series you like, before to even play extra content of your game you needed more disks since the first disc of the game was full of content so you need a second one disc for more.(they usually include a two disk version on release or after a year like forza)
now with the new digital downloadable content seems to be different to me,the dlc seems to be so small like 480 kb,800 kb, or just 5mb of add on's.the usual add on's for games are costumes this would be nice if it really was fan request but can't they just put that data in their game, it is so small that they should be able to put costumes in their game like what they did with the ps2 and gamecube, and xbox games why is it that the original games of those systems seem to have more costumes than games of today?(dbz games before raging blast to me had so many costumes and character's than today's games of dragonball z)
disc locked content to me seems unreasonable, to me feels like if you bought the game you didn't get access to playing of all the full disc since the makers locked stuff in the disc so that you can't access it without a code so it's like to pay for cheat codes to me that how I see it.I just think things that where originally on the disc should be playable don't you think so?(capcom and bioware have this.
basically most dlc aren't really like big data of they are really like 480 kb to 10 mb and it's like they can just add that content to the original game itself instead of downloading it, i don't see it as they just made the costumes it's like they made originally when the game was made but they just lock it up or release separate like how capcom does it.
if dlc was for huge data(like skyrim dlc or demo sized data) i would understand but most of the dlc seems to be so small that it should have been added to the original disc, does anyone feel that downloadable content is a rip off most of the time or it is not a rip off with the small data being added?
