Well, Danzo clearly wanted Hiruzen to fall. and what is the best way to destory a guy like Hiruzen? By destroying his legacy. Orochimaru was his favourite student for a long time and by mindfking him, Danzo ultimately destroyed the will of fire. Danzo had alliance with Orochimaru and ultimately, Oro killed Hiruzen. How convenient for Danzo!

I think Danzo manipulated Orochimaru from the beginning until it was too late and he turned into a psychopath.

nah i don't think so cause despite danzos cold hearted acts he still cared about protecting konoha and wouldn't want someone as powerful as orochimaru turning against it and also he viewed hiruzen as his best friend and rival so i doubt he wanted him dead so bad that he would go that far and its explained that orochimaru turned evil after seeing those things you put up dans and nawakis death and the death of his parents. he became obsessed with how fragile the human body was and wanted to become immortal as we all know

i doubt it. oro has plans of his own...i think he was not manipulated.only that their views may have similarity thus making them friends and allies. as the adage says, birds of the same feather flock together..

Exactly! that's a clear definition of someone being used. What Danzo did he thought he did it for the sake of the village and he wanted to eliminate hiruzen. But in reality, he created a monster out of Orochimaru and when Orochimaru tried destroying the leaf as well as killing Hiruzen, thats when Danzo realised Oro was a threat to the leaf so he sent Sai to sabotage Oro's plan by killing Sasuke. Isn't that funny Danzo still had alliance with Oro even after Sarutobi's death?
