^I concur, Amon was so badass, though he kind of lost a bit of it when he was revealed to be a water/bloodbender b/c a normal person kicking benders' ass just seems so awesome, but he didn't lose much, just some.

Disagree:
(1) The only interesting and plausible part of your theory
(2) They aren't going to show a close up of two men being blown to bits on Nickelodeon. Think about it.
(3) Being an additional 3-4 feet from the engine won't make a difference with such a large explosion.

On top of that, Amon has nothing more to offer as a villain. His return would not serve the story line.
not necessary to show the explosion of blood n bits. enough to show some floating body or empty clothes or somethinng.... i mean they showed monk gyatso's skeleton....plus amon is still a powerful bender in his own right.....until he loses his powers and becomes a normal non-bender, he is still a potent villain...as korra says "amon got away" may mean he can come back

no because nobody in nickelodeon ever dies
so what does that make the air nomads wiped out by fire lord souzen and all the non-fire nation people...are they still alive on nickelodeon...and what about northern water tribe princess yue, she didnt die off-screen????

Yuh huh. You have Aang, Toph, etc. etc.
but they died normally due to natural death as far as we know....fire lord souzen wiped out air nomads and katara's tribe etc....im talking about genocide and murderss...tarlock did murder-suicide.

^Energy bending fits, as its close to the spiritual arts of the monks

I think that they could be dead, though as someone else said, the first point made by the OP was a good one, mentioning Amon's ability to sense Tarlock. Though I do disagree about Amon no longer being able to serve a purpose. All of his actions seemed to imply that he would be back, and especially considering we never found out HOW he took bending away with bloodbending. The writers for this show are good, i don't think they will forget about that.
ooh ooh i said it.....thank u 4 agreeing :D......one point though-technically the movement of energy is not only for spiritual/airbenders....uncle iroh told that he learnt the lightning redirection move by watching the waterbenders which is to "flow the energy within oneself"....so energy related things are also involved with water and firebending not only air

thanks for reading this long reply, from avatar otaku

ppl dont die in avatar? Including his fatal injury sustained in "The Crossroads of Destiny", from which he was resurrected shortly thereafter, Aang was the sixth of eight to have been known to be dying or being murdered in the series. In chronological order, the others were Tui, Yue, Zhao, Chin, Jet, Roku, and Combustion Man.

its not that farfetched for them to kill off amon and tarlokk, i mean what would amon really do now he doesnt have an army anymore and benders and nonbenders arent exactly on good terms with him. he wouldnt serve much purpose other than have one shot episode where he would try to get revenge on korra and friends. but to me it seemed like he wouldve just went onto live life with his bro if he didnt die.

and @ guy who says aang died of natural cuases. in legend of korra he did but in ATLA he was mured on sceern by azula
he wasnt really dead dead...if he was dead dead by azula, the next avatar would have been born...he was more probably like in a state of near-death

amon is a powerful waterbender.....only some non-benders saw him...and even if everyone knows about him so what? yakone was powerful enough to bloodbend everyone without moving his hands (in the flashback)......his son amon can easily come on a full moon night and take down republic city on his own......he would make a good one-man army.. he he..... :D

in hindsight thinking about it, a fully realized avatar aang could cancel bloodbending effects and overpower yakone only with avatar state....but korra can overpower amon's bloodbending only with airbending? i think thats a little too much....
