Why didnt Itachi solo nagato's CBT then? ama is useless against rocks because rocks dont burn, just as water doesnt burn (I didnt say they dont catch on fire, however that fire will not spread because boulders do not conduct heat)

I have to say no. While Amaterasu is strong, I don't believe it has enough raw power to destroy the black-hole center of Chibaku Tensei, or burn away rubble fast enough to keep the user safe.

Well amaterasu burns everything..there's no blocking it whatsoever.its only weakness is how long it takes to burn.not that it takes too too long.if were talking hitting the core with it,yes it will work.but the rocks themselves would form faster then it could burn.

Amaterasu is the strongest pysical jutsu.manga says it can't be blocked.just saying

It is one of the SO6P techniques, virtually unstoppable, hell when madara whipped it out on the field(PAUSE) it was thought of as unthinkable to B capable n unimaginable. On topic: No, I HIGHLY doubt Amaterasu can counter Planetary Devestation/Chibaku Tensei. In order to cancel out a jutsu like Chibaku Tensei, you need to destroy the core, and while Amaterasu might be powerful enough to burn the core theres no way it would be able to burn it before the core was protected by earth. Plus, Amaterasu is directed by what the user can see, so unless your looking right at the core before shit covers it up, Amaterasu might not even reach the core.

Only time ameratsu burned fast was in the beginning when its exploded through the fire frog's esophogus. The explosion startled Naruto and Jiraiya. If ameratsu is as hot as the sun it should be blowing things up...
But Vegita should've blown the earth up when he self destructed too

No, is a fire the counter to a car? Itachi makes it quite clear that only long range powerfull explosive jutsu's would be enough to destroy, not burn, the center of tensie. If it wasnt then he would have just used Amaterasu in the first place instead of Yatagama. Also how would someone target the center of the tensie with all the rocks and clutter in the way... it just doesnt seem likely.

nope, we already saw the answer of itachi against CT.

he said to naruto and bee to use their STRONGEST LONG RANGE jutsu..

amaterasu can also be a long range jutsu but instead he used yasaka magatama, which only implies yasaka>amaterasu, but sadly yasaka ALONE is not enough to do it heck I think not even close to scratching it.

one can only counter CT by having a firepower greater than or equal to TBB+rasenshuriken+yasaka.

And the caster would be dead before that even happens.

It's easier to kill the user of the Chibaku Tensei with Amaterasu than to destroy the jutsu itself.

I remember something about seven days, and after that the flames would be gone. Seven days is not enough to destroy Chibaku Tensei.
