His hair spikes downwards, not upwards. So no. Your word on the bold isn't enough for me to fold either considering the wording and context of the entire situation. The underlined only applies if he was really using V1 there and it wasn't a drawing error, like his wording clearly implies.
Yes, he needed more speed to crush Madara's guard, because more speed=more power, and Onoki brought more power to the table since Ay's speed wasn't enough. That is what that whole situation portrays. Ay wasn't enough thus Onoki had to help.
He was only using V1. Each time Ay went V2 the change was noticeable. The distinct difference between them is their hair.

. All you're arguing is that Ay was in V2 because of the context of the situation but manga panels confirm he wasn't.
Thus it'd be the time it takes for Hirudora to hit it's target, on top of the time it'd take Gai to stop and form the hand signs. :lol The latter has to be performed before the former thus the whole process takes more time than Gai throwing a punch, thus Madara has more time to intercept it.
The time you're mentioning it takes Gai to shoot Hirudora wouldn't make a difference. Madara was backpedaling and blocking all of Gais attacks with one hand. At any point he could have easily used his other hand holding his staff to cut Gai down but he didn't. If Madara was blocking Gais attacks with his free hand then his hand speed is superior 7G Gai's punches, which you say happens quicker than Hirudora, so he could have easily intercepted Gai with his staff hand at any point just like he intercepted all his punches. Remember,
he was using one arm to block all of Gais attacks one after the other so don't insinuate that he was too fast for Madara to swing his other arm down and hit him, that would be ridiculous
He's the only one who has ever said he was the fastest man alive. Everyone else simply called him extremely fast, or just fast. Which would matter if they had claimed that Ay was the fastest man alive. Which would also matter if you could actually prove that they know the full extent of 7G Gai's physical prowess and not just his signature move. No, Kishi had Ay claim that he was the fastest man alive. Nothing more, nothing less.
The author told me Ay is the fastest man alive and Gai was already in that time period and 7G had already been revealed. The author knew Gais capabilities. Anything else you say is irrelevant. Theres no direct comparison between Gai and Ays speed to even gauge who is faster so the authors statement triumphs over any argument period. Even if you try to compare them you'll end up back at square one that Ay is faster.
Not even sure why you bothered mentioning the first part since it's not relevant here. Underlined is a joke. :lol. If he strikes fast enough to prevent JJ Madara from cutting him down, then it means he can react to things as fast as JJ Madara's striking speed due to his striking speed being superior. Unless you think Ay will react to what cut SM Minato down, it's clear who's reaction speed is better.
@Bold I already explained this above. The punches that you claim are executed faster than Hirudora were all blocked by Madara. At any point Madaras other arm could have came down on Gai to hit him. You're saying Madara couldn't do that which is laughable because like I said, to block all Gais punches effortlessly like that his strike speed is superior, not inferior. So no, nothing is clear whose reactions are better because you've proven SM Minato can't react to Madaras strike speed but failed to prove Gai can, which brings his reaction level below that of Ay's because he has no other feat suggesting otherwise.
