Iphone Jailbreak

So recently i just purchased an Iphone 4 and all my friends are telling me to jail break it. I know that it's legal now but was wondering if theres any risk in doing it that might ruin my Iphone?

Reason i say this is because i payed $900 for it so don't want it destroyed xd

Considering the money you paid for it, I wouldn't do it if there were any risks. But thats just me

My friend has done it to a few phones so at least he knows what his doing.

Yes 2 of my friends have done it with success so i would end up getting them to do it.

Yeah definitely considering it they've both done it to there iphones with success so they know what there doing.

it is legal and there are less risks then previous versions, but keep in mind that Apple frowns in jailbreaking their products and it can void the warrenty.

However I've done it an it find it very useful. You can set get apps that improve the things that Apple has done, like BiteSMS, which improves greatly on the existing iPhone SMS app. SBSsettings is another app/plugin that most people just jailbreak for. It basically allows your to quickly adjust settings like bluetooth, 3G, data and other settings. You can change the theme of your iphone through winterboard. Mine currently mimics Android Froyo looking phone and also has a animated lock screen.

If you do decide to jailbreak your phone, keep in mind that you can return it to stock and before you jailbreak look at a couple sites like iphonehacks and freekgeeks

Their are risks but nothing too worry about. I have had my Iphone jail broken for a year now and have had no problem. Their are times where it will freeze or slow down but that all depends on what you download. I have a lot on my Iphone about 20 games cool apps and different themes, etc. Remember you always have a yr warranty with apple so if anything goes wrong reset the iphone call apple make up some bs and they will send you a box to return it and send a new one out. So you can try it but it's upto you i personally think it's really useful

I used to work for apple and not quite sure its still the same but when I worked there a yr ago if you did this it your wrrenty on your phone was voided. One of their IT guys was talking to me about how to do it and not mess things up but it was kind of complicated so I stopped listening. I wouldnt do this myself, on my phone by myself, I'd find someone that could/would do it on the skrimp who has good refferances..

I doubt thats the case and it depends how people do it. I go thru greenpoison and you can do this on your own which I have done to my new iPhone 4 and the past iPhone. I've also just reseted them and sent them back to apple if I though something was wrong and got a new one in return without them knowing about it and the warranty wasn't void at all. In all just reset it and they will never find out. As long as you reset iPhone before sending it in your fine and you do it thru a safe software or someone who does it. My friends also have iPhones and they have sent them back after reseting them and have recieved new iPhone.

My xbox is modded the way the guy I go to does it no one can find out, he has some special thing that he uses which peels this sticker off which basically is your warratny and if thats out of place they will void it but he some how removes it and puts it back on exactly without finding out, every year they ban accounts so I send mine in as I have warranty before they can banned me and get a new one back and have done this 2 times now, also my friends have done this a few times now also.
