In the end is like cheering for your team.
I like my iPhone. I did an awesome deal for it.
If i had done it for a Galaxy, i'd be a Android/Galaxy fanboy (I do enjoy Samsung. the phones i had before were Samsung)
Now, i wouldn't trade my iPhone (and iPad for that matter).
So, in the end, i can't give you a good justification, just a fanboy justification. xd

Buy the galaxy s3 because it would be the phone to get the best update android jelly bean. Ios 6 has no noteworthy features. Matter of fact. Symbian has more features. If you can wait, check out iphone 5. Galaxy s2 already beats the iphone in most everything so if you have the money buy the s3. It is better in every regard. Voice features is present in old symbian so siri is a stupid gimmick. Galaxy has s voice. S beam and can connect to anything. Xbox controllers, playstation controllers. Wireless mouse and keyboard. S3 has a lot more to offer. I would wait for windows 8 but thats just me

This is where the conflict begins.
I agree with everything you say but (there is always a but) does Windows 8 smartphones or Android smartphones support: MorphWiz, SampleWiz, Geosynth?
This is always a matter of What YOU want a smartphone for.
Do you have that geek side? Then you'll probably want an Android so you can root and stuff like that. But i don't give a crap about that. I want to make phone call's, some texting, browsing, some games and music app... and pay as little as possible. i got an iPhone 4G for a simple exchange of my Samsung H1 (worth 75€, and bought a year before).
For instance, a friend told me the new Micro$oft tablet will be better than iPad... ok, but i wont buy because i'm quiet happy with my iPad.
As i said before, for 99% of us is a matter of fanboy(girl)ism.

I really hate this whole fanboy nonsense. You should be informed before you make a decision and then buy something that suits your needs. If you want a premium device, thats popular, does most things and has a nice ecosystem then buy iphone. To get the most out of iphone its best to have all apple products. Its a pain in the rear to use itunes on windows. If you want the most out of a device, ie best hardware, best benchmarks, most connectivity its best to go for android as it works on all major os's. If you want great build quality but dont worry about latest and greatest everything and dont care about future of support for your device but just want a device that does everything its suppose to do and more buy a symbian or n9. Windows 8 is promising but I wont board that train just yet. There you have it. Information. But if your just going to be a fanboy and defend a device then I basically wasted time writing this

i like the OS and if i need to get extra features i can simply jailbreak it which is usually simpler than rooting android devices especially kindle fire at least it used to be.
Main features i like and actually use
IMessage this thing is one of the best features like bbm for blackberry users, its free messaging with any person with an ios devices.
i also like siri and do u use it to a certain extent
also the apps in the appstore i ca actually trust no matter what and dont have risks like the android marketplace.
honestly picking between ios and android is purely a choice between people. Its not really a right or wrong scenario, i used both os's but just prefer IOS

Galaxy S3 measures 5.38x 2.78 x 0.34 inches, while the iPhone 4S measures 4.5 x 2.31 x 0.37 inches - smaller, thinner and slightly thicker. The main reason is because of the Galaxy S3's 4.8-inch screen, compared to the 3.5-inch display on the 4S.
there's a 1.3 inch difference in screen sizebetween the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S. The S3 uses a Super AMOLED HD display with a 1280 x 720 resolution - the same as the Galaxy Nexus - while the 4S uses the Retinadisplay at a 960 x 640 resolution. Bear in mind the4S has less screen space to use, so even though the Galaxy S3 has a higher resolution technically, the Retina display is still the benchmark for devices. The Retina display on 4S was described as a more washed-out screen, with light blacks, compared to the iPhone 4.
And trust me on this s3 is better because I'v used both and am currently using s3

Thanks for the info. Good job... but you clearly didn't understand a thing i said or meant, at least!
Allow me to try again.
Most ppl don't care about rooting, for instance. Most ppl that have Android smartphones don't freaking know what rooting is. probably never heard the word applied to smartphones.
You know why? Because most ppl want smartphones because they are fashionable.
Of course they can use pretty useless feats like making calls or texting, maybe sending emails. But who really cares when rooting is the most important feat in a smartphone. Connecting to a pc is also importante... for those who care. If you just want to make phone calls holding a pretty device the pc doesn't seem very important does it?
I use my iDevice$ with iTune$/Window$. Hummm... no, my but doesn't really hurt, because i don't pay attention to meaningless details.
Computers make your life easier or hard depending on how you see and use them. I just don't loose my time with pc's as i used to. I don't get angry because it's slow. I just go do something else in the mean time... anyway, moving on...
Honestly, if you're a regular user (let's call it that ok?) then you want to make those useless thing that comes with phones: calling and texting, but you want to impress ppl with a nice looking device. It doesn't freaking matter the OS. It only matters the looks of it.
C'mon, do you really think for these ppl it matters if it's rootable or not?
So, here enters fanboyism. I like Apple products. I rather have a Samsung because its prettier...
But you can't really blame these ppl. They just want to make phone calls and text... let them be fashion slaves. That is the only information they care.
But you want to do some more with your smart phone. I don't blame you for that. The same way i don't blame others for not wanting. It's about your life goals i guess.
Again, you are totaly right***, but the thing is, most users don't get so excited by those things.
When i was 15/16 i was interested in those stuff. But i'm 27 now and i rather use my time reading a book, playing guitar than studying and comparing tech devices to see what's best for my geeky side.
