Okay, so I've wanted to start something up for a while based around the 'fighting fantasy' gamebooks my dad used to play with my brother and I when I was little (I feel I owe my interest in this site partially to those books). If you're not farmiliar with the concept, it puts players/readers in the position of our hero. By giving options at the end of each paragraph of the book the player chooses which paths to follow and objects to take. The book progresses in a non-liniar fashion with certain actions sending you to different pages of the book. The idea is that on the final page is the final part of the story and where you complete the quest subsequently winning the game.
Now the original books don't cater to an RP format, with the book doing all of the storytellng, I however would like to incorporate their system with our RP, giving you guys the ability to actually RP within the story, saving you the need to give just single word answers each time as that would easily become repetitive and boring. This would obviously rely heavily on my input with posting NPC chars and storyline moments as well as scenery and options, but if you're willing to give me the effort required then I'm willing to give it in return.
This thread would take some hell'a organising, so this is merely to get an understanding of how many would be interested in participating in such a concept. I'd try to keep the stories fresh and exciting, as well as short but fun in order to give new people a chance to participate. Each story would continue until someone finishes the quest and wins the game at which point I would create a new world, new scenario, new characters... Maybe we can make some themed games too if interest grows.
If you'd be interested in helping be with the design and manufacturing of this game please say as this would be a ton of help. If once the game is up and running someone would like to run there own that'd be wonderful as well, I probably wouldn't be able to run more than one at a time myself so to have more on the go would be good.
So yeah, post if you'd be interesting in taking part... Once I figure out how it would work xD
