I have no problem with the instant awakening, i'm left handed and thus it's pretty tricky to pull off on a pS3 controller but I have no quarrel with it.
Somebody will find a way to abuse it though, you just know it.

Technically anything can be abused. As long as everyone is able to use it then it's pretty fair - if one party chooses to abuse the other is able to do so as well.
However, if Instant Awakening isn't available for every character then I think I'm going to pass on buying it. That would just add more unbalance to the game IMO.
