Projection Fish is an inferior version of Hiding like a Mole. The only benefit is that emerging from the ground is much more quiet compared to Mole. Mole is otherwise a better choice in every other aspect.
Divide is a good technique for disrupting the enemy's flow and potentially catching them off guard due to how much you can change the terrain with it. You can easily take out any of their jutsu which uses the ground as a medium, such as the B-Rank Fire Dragon Flame Bullet. It can drain the field of water and as a result make using techniques which require it a little harder to get use out of as well.
Shaking Palm also does this, but only fills the field with various smaller obstacles, rather than a single large one. Because it doesn't alter the terrain as much, and requires less time to perform, it can be considered a more last-resort technique to get one out of immediate danger or hinder the enemy in situations where Divide won't make it in time.
Fist Rock should really only be used in close quarters and in combination with Added Weight techniques, as its got little to no utility outside of that. It's a decent Taijutsu technique, nothing more.
Tunneling is a bit weird. It creates a large opening in the ground through which people can move without detection, though I'm assuming that doesn't include sensory or Dojutsu. Because of how large the technique is, I don't think this is meant to be used in a fight, and it's more for RP'ing purposes.
Rock Blizzard is a good technique for distracting the enemy and getting a few quick shots in. Though if the enemy knows where you've assimilated or otherwise where you are when the technique is used, it's hard to counter.
Earth Needle is a nice technique for situations where you want to quickly attack the enemy, as it is created from the mud you summon using Flow Wave. It makes it very easy to just summon a needle in close proximity to the opponent and attack.
Ground Bedrock is a good technique to distract the enemy, but is quite easily countered through Nagashi. It should be quickly succeeded by another technique which doesn't take long to use in order to maximise the killing potential.
This technique pales in comparison to the Hiding in Mist technique, save for the fact that the dust can greatly hinder enemy eyesight if it comes into contact with their eyes. Otherwise, Hiding in Mist is the better option.
Rock Hammer, Bullet, and Rising Rocks are honestly distraction/throwaway techniques. They're easy too easy to identify and counter to warrant any usage more than to distract the enemy.
Rock Formation is good for catching the enemy off-guard with it's more bizarre nature compared to other earth techniques. It alters the terrain, which can potentially hinder enemy strategies and such, and has an offensive capability which may leave the opponent open to attack. It should be followed by a very quick jutsu, as the enemy won't just stand still whilst in the air.
The last two techniques are simply smaller and larger variants of the same thing, a simple earth wall. But they do the job of blocking smaller techniques and breaking line of sight.
