If Rikudo Chakra is what allowed Obito to traverse back to Kakashi, it would reason to say that Naruto and Sasuke held Rikudo Chakra long before meeting Hagoromo and this does not seem to be the case.
Both Obito & Hagoromo had a limited amount of time they could stick around, the implication being that Indra and Ashura must have had a shit load of Rikudo Chakra to exist for centuries. They do not. If they did, countless Indra transmigrates would have had Rinnegan.

Not at all; Again, Obito only obtained the Six Paths chakra from Rikudou Madara. Naruto and Sasuke’s cases were entirely different because they received Six Paths chakra directly from a sentient being (Hago was able to verbally interact with them and bestow his power onto them). As opposed to Indra and Ashura reincarnates where they didn’t hold meetings with their “reincarnates”, nor did they bestow any gifts upon them. The only exception being Hashirama, in regards to the receiving gifts portion, and that’s not even definitive tbh.

Anyway, we know for a fact that Ashura had Rikudou Sage Mode (which was the complete RSM at that- as opposed to Naruto’s), which is Six Paths Senjutsu but yet Hashirama didn’t inherit Six Paths Senjutsu...So that’s what I was getting at. Therefore, if my theory is correct, Indra’s reincarnations wouldn’t inherit his Six Paths chakra anyway. Therefore none of them would have the Rinnegan.

? How do we know he had RSM and what is there to say it wasn't gifted to him by Hagoromo instead of birth? That'd be to say Indra still may not have Rikudo Chakra. Also, isn't RSM the collection of all tailed beast? Wouldn't whatever chakra granted by it no longer be produced once the beast are freed by his death? In that sense, there'd be no way for the chakra trickle down long enough to last centuries. I think Ashura and Indra's chakra are replenished over time because that shit just cannot last as long as it does.

@Bold, what difference does it make? Madara himself did not need anyone to bestow him powers. The change was a natural reaction with the chakra he'd awakened. I'm also unsure that Obito took Madara's Rikudo Chakra opposed to the Juubi's. I think there's a difference between the two that barred him from awakening a Rinnegan of his own. If we consider that Hagaromo's chakra is needed for Rinnegan, it's not ridiculous to believe another entity's chakra may not qualify even if it's similar.

Rikudo Chakra gives Rinnegan so they didnt have SixPath Chakra
RSM is Six Paths chakra, which Ashura had that. Hagoromo himself attested to that. Naruto had Six Paths Senjutsu And he didn’t obtain the Rinnegan.

@bold: Who were you talking about there; Obito, Indra, Ashura or Madara?
No, RSM is Six Paths Sage Mode and knowledge bestowed upon an individual with a righteous heart and a courage soul, by Hagoromo himself. I paraphrased a tad but the message is still the same; Hagoromo tells Sasuke that he “entrusted Ashura, alone, with his powers but this time I split them between the two of you.” Also no, RSM can be amplified with the power of the Bijuu but it isn’t dependent on it and therefore, RSM isn’t the collection of the tailed beasts. In regards to logic of how Indra and Ashura managed to transmigrated their chakra for centuries, it isn’t explained. BUT as I described in the OP, it has to do with Six Paths chakra.

@Underlined: To be honest, I have no idea what you’re trying to argue here but... the difference is that Madara was smart enough to obtain Rikudou chakra on his own (Rinnegan awakening) and become the Juubi Jinchuriki- which granted Rikudou Senjutsu to accompany Madara’s own Rikudou chakra. Another difference is that Madara didn’t get OP handouts from the god of shinobi, Madara’s Rikudou chakra wasn’t Hagoromo tier Rikudou chakra. For one, Madara only received a trivial portion of Hashirama’s chakra. And two, Hagoromo’s chakra could utilize Six Paths Senjutsu while Madara couldn’t even utilize standard Senjutsu. Also, Obito explicitly took some of Madara’s Six Path Senjutsu (which was granted to him by being the Juubi Jinchuriki). >And anyway, Naruto had Six Paths Senjutsu and was an Ashura reincarnate and he didn’t awaken the Rinnegan, and Sasuke awakened it in one eye simply because Hagoromo forced his eye to evolve. Ashura himself was gifted Six Paths chakra and didn’t awaken the Rinnegan either. Whether Indra’s doujutsu evolved prior to his death isn’t explained but regardless of Indra not obtaining the Rinnegan, he still had Six Paths Chakra. <

I'll just concede. I have no idea of the differences between the various forms of Rikudo Chakra and senjutsu, so that's out of my depth.
