nice try, but it makes no sense. Look at how young he was with that rinnegan, now ASSUMING that you can get EMS from your children (only cases are brothers) his son would have to have been fairly old to even have it, than he would have to transplant it. no matter what way you look at it, it's completely stupid.
i made a theory on the Origins of the Mangekyou and Ems

Yes but Indra could get his EMS from the sage's brother's sons. Its a possibility they might have had it too and they would have been the same age.

the spiral rinnegan is probably Indra's Mangekyo shape. It would make sense for Indra's eyes to resemble the Rinnegan since he is the first one with a sharingan.
No. His eyes were a complete swirl. MS shapes have never encompassed an eye, they only encompass the iris (the pupil and colored part of the eye). Only the rinnegan has encompassed the entire eye so it is impossible, if you ask me, for the spiral pattern to be a MS shape. It most likely was just an early interpretation that Kishi changed later.

The older son got his dads eyes . That means indra has the rinnegan . Indra is not uchiha nor is the younger brother senju . Uchiha and senju came later
Actually he officially IS an Uchiha because he has Sharingan. He was simply the first Uchiha.

The spiral eyes of the Elder son were just an ancient representation of his eyes, it's just a way to note the difference between the sons eyes, period.
I think you're right. I just realized that back then we didn't know that Sharingan became Rinnegan. So if he gave the elder son Sharingan, it might spoil the secret. He also didn't want to give him Rinnegan because he wanted to note the difference between him and his father. Again, he didn't want to show him with Sharingan though. Nice catch.

I agree with Floydical, Kishi obviously drew that panel of the two brothers a long time ago in the manga, and it wasn't even a very clear panel in the first place. He probably changed his mind about the "spiral rinnegan", since with the story now it doesn't fit all that well. I don't think you need EMS to get the Rinnegan either, all EMS does it make it so you don't lose your eyesight if you use MS to much, it hasn't been said anywhere that you NEED EMS to get Rinnegan, you just need Senju DNA. Hell Indra probably didn't need "Senju" DNA if he got the Rinnegan anyway, since he was his father's biological son, he was close enough. Although I don't think it makes sense that Indra could possibly get EMS, he was the only one with the Sharingan, even if he had sons or whatever, you have to remember that not every Uchiha can even activate normal Sharingan, let alone MS, so even if he had sons there's not guarantee that they even had Sharingan. There's only been what, 5 people who have activated MS in the first place? Itachi, Sasuke, Madara, Izuna, and Obito/Kakashi(Kakashi only activated it because Obito did, so I count it as one person). Well make that 6, since Indra obviously had MS since he used Perfect Susanoo. And just because he used PS doesn't mean he had EMS, we don't know if you need EMS to use PS, since the only people who have ever used it are Madara, and I'm pretty sure Sasuke used PS with Naruto against Obito when they joined together. For all we know all Susanoo users can use PS if they are strong enough, hell Itachi might have been able to use it, but he never even had a reason to so we'll never know.
Thanks for the support! I think Verg is right from above, Kishi simply wanted to note a difference between his and the sage's eyes back then, perhaps without showing Sharingan. He didn't want to give away that the sharingan was so closely related to the Rinngan, so he gave him a generic doujutsu that differed from the Rinnegan.

I used to believe that MS could lead to Rinnegan, but now I'm not so sure. Think about it this way:

1. MS gives you the full power of the sharingan.
2. EMS gives you MS + eternal light
3. Rinnegan gives you additional abilities + MS abilities and, obviously, ETERNAL LIGHT

The way I see it, you can't progress to the eye with Rinnegan abilities AND ETERNAL LIGHT until you unlock eternal light in the MS stage. So what I"m saying is that you might need EMS to get Rinnegan for this reason, because only someone already possessing MS abilities and eternal light can unlock Rinnegan abilities + eternal light.
