Not sure exactly when but there were hamura's descendants on earth while some went with him to the moon around that time. It fits the story given in the last

that would make sense, but i think the Hyuga came a little later after Indra and Ashura, considering that the Hyuga are the offspring of Hamura's clan + some human. I think if Hamura's clan was mating with each other on Earth, then more Ootsusukis would've been born, not Hyuga's.

Point being, it would've took a while for the Hyuga to have been created, at least a little after Indra and Ashura's era

Even if the term ninjutsu wasn't used before Indra, people still technically witnessed ninjutsu from the likes of Hagoromo and Kaguya. People learned from Hagormo who may have taught them about other interesting things they could do with chakara aside from communicating via spiritual energy. Also Asura was stated to have obtained a huge following, so he probably taught people some techniques other than just communicating without words via chakara.

Even if they truly didn't teach anyone how to use chakara in other ways and even if you are right in that nobody else besides Otsutsuki decendants used jutsus, the claim that Indra and Asura would be weak by modern standards is dead wrong.

Perfect susanoo and RSM avatar alone wreck most of the NV (not to mention Asura's truth seeking balls).

Remind me again how exactly the previous 5 kages (Tsunade, Ay, Gaara, Onoki, Mei) fared against Madara's PS. Oh that's right. They didn't. Their strongest combination attack was broken out of easily by PS. When the shinobi alliance saw Madara's PS and Hashirama's wood golem they started quaking in their boots.

As for truth seeking balls, only people with rikudou power, senjutsu or advanced taijutsu have been shown to even be able to fight a user of that jutsu (and in the case of taijutsu we're talking something akin to the 8th gate of death which kills the user).

If Indra and Asura are Iruka level, I guess Ebisu is Kaguya level? Perhaps Udon and Moegi are Hagoromo and Hamura level? Teuchi isn't a shinobi, so we'll just start him off with a lower comparison to Toneri or Kinshiki perhaps.

This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. The reason why Indra and Ashura were the most powerful was because they were the only two individuals with CHAKRA.

everyone else were chakraless fodder with spears so ofc they were revered as gods.
