Well, if 8th Gate is supposedly a big threat to Juubi Madara with Rinnegan, who is A LOT stronger than SM Madara which easily pwned Edo Hashirama, then 8th Gate Guy should AT LEAST equal SM Madara.

I agree that Guy in 8th gate does surpass hashirama.

The manga clearly states the if the user goes into the eight gate it gives the powers that surpass any kage. The term kage also refers to all the hokage.

So im pretty sure that next week we will see a red beast who could easily put down all the previous kage. And the other translation gave a different perception of things.
