The manga clearly states the if the user goes into the eight gate it gives the powers that surpass any kage. The term kage also refers to all the hokage.

So im pretty sure that next week we will see a red beast who could easily put down all the previous kage. And the other translation gave a different perception of things.

naruto is the definition of borrowed powers. Itachi's Eyes don't have a will of their own. Yet naruto continually gets powers from a beast that is actually alive inside of him. you tell me whose borrowing.

When they had that convo about 8th gates > than Hokage's power, it was at the beginning (or near begining) of the series. And at that point... Hiruzen was Hokage. So what we can gather from that is that 8 gates > Non-prime Hiruzen (I know how you basers love Prime Hiruzen... whoever he is). You can't conclude that 8 gates > Hashirama from a simple dialogue anyway, but if you could, it wouldn't work in this case.
