take those two instances out. and sasuke never falls.

the only way i could see it being SEMI justified and semi acceptable is if every single uchiha was a barbarian fundamentalist nutjob who had never heard of the word surrender.
the mist village was faced with a similar situation of one clan vs a proper military and rather than slaughter kaguya clan in the dead of night like rats, they faced them in honorable battle and beat them easily.
they had to kill them all because other than kimimaro, they were all dumb thug barbarians who loved the concept of dying in battle.
but the uchihas were not evil at all, just desperate revolutionaries driven to rebel by a corrupt government and poor decisions by the hokage. ineptitude is as good a reason to rebel as corruption btw.
