How do you plan on immortalizing yourself?

Obviously the current generation hasn't had such a breakthrough as attaining immortality of the sort as humanity's death is inevitable. The immortality I'm alluding to is the one Mozart obtained; the same immortality say, Adolf Hitler has. They're not known by everyone, but in the books of history their names remain unforgotten.

Nevertheless, one of few-many ways one can achieve immortality among the human race is in the following manner:

You could:
Make music that will be listened to for centuries and more. e.g The Beatles, Michael Jackson.

or

Write poems and books like William Shakespeare or be the next J.R.R Tolkien.

All these examples had things to sacrifice. They sacrificed a lot of intimacy with the people they loved, and you could agree that they didn't have the best life that earth could offer. Michael Jackson had obtained the pinnacle of fame and was acknowledged as the best artist to have ever walked the earth, but what were the costs? He was emotionally brutalized by the media, accused of many crimes and was even allegedly abandoned by his family in the darkest of times.

Albert Einstein also had to go through many obstacles to be who he was. He had to push himself towards proving theories that he proposed and were rejected by the public or those who were in the same field. He's also said to haven't had a great love life in all his achievements. He achieved things an ordinary man can only dream of, but there were costs he incurred.

Same must have reflected in William Shakespeare's life. He probably didn't have many close friends and had to spend time away in order to gain the acumen in writing he'd procured.

Now, having peered into the negatives, and since the benefits are conspicuous: world acknowledgement, treatment perks, "memorial" immortality and so forth, what would you choose,

and

Is immortality in that form even something worth pursuing?

No such thing as immortality. Every soul shall taste death, there's no doubt about that.

You've missed my point. Albert Einstein is dead, but you know him, don't you? That's the kind of immortality I'm referring to here.

You didn't even read further than the first question, so your answer is unthought

While I do plan on making myself into a good artist and a video-game developer, I don't really have plans to become famous by my work, I mean, I'd like that but it's not why I do what I do.

That says quite a lot about you.

If on a slight chance, you became famous, would you put a halt to your work or would you continue writing music and developing games?

nah I don't care about being remembered by people I don't know. I just want to live a somewhat decent life and call it a day. though it's still nice to remember amazing people like Einstein.
As for remembering the infamous people like Hitler, it's good to have that knowledge of who they are so people can learn from those mistakes and tragedies and provide best chance to avoid a repeat.

You can go achieve something then, some kind of break through in science. Build famous monuments. Or if your into the dark side of things you can kill people alot of people you'd be remembered for that, look at Hitler and Stalin.

You're making it as if I'm trying to impose philosophies on you. I never said I wanted to be Hitler or any of those guys I mentioned. I was just bringing a light to the matter, and requesting for your thoughts on it is all.

And if you want my personal opinion, I will give it, but it's really not cool to try antagonize me when I've only provided some facts.

Is there anything you disagree with here?

If there's any, then please come forth with your argument. I don't see why I should disallow you from speeching your personal conviction

Personally, fame isn't something I would want anyone to pursue. They can be famous accidentally, like Sia, but wanting something just so the whole world marvels at your work isn't quite a way to go about life.

But sometimes, it can be inevitable. From what I've read about T.R.R Tolkien, his intentions of writing were not to attain public acknowledgement. He admits he wanted people to read his work, but fame was far from his intentions. So sometimes your talent can be for the world to witness or sometimes, for a few, but still it's something worth celebrating. Not many have astounding talent like say actors like Van Damme or Jackie Chan. But if you're an actor, do you have a choice on being famous or not? I don't think so. Van Damme probably was acting because he liked it, but at the end of the day, he got famous anyway

I ain't agreeing or disagreeing with anything here. I've already stated my thoughts. Like you said Einstein (that's why i said science) is known for the stuff he did, you could try that or something similar. Or be like Hitler or Stalin, either way good or bad if it has a big enough impact with people, then you'd be remembered. Again weren't antagonising you at all.

its not worth it at all. even the forms of 'immortality' you mentioned is temporary.

there have been many names just like them lost to history because of human stupidity during the 6th age and before.

you actually think the status quo will remain how it is now forever? some day all those people you mention will be lost to war or some other unavoidable stupid act humanity will take.

so would i sacrifice my personal life for a slightly prolonged use of my name? nah not worth

Too much effort.
This. I don't have the talent, the intellect, or a passion for anything to be remembered throughout history. Besides, it's too much work. I'd rather enjoy life.

I've always wanted to create a secret society of people. And also create a house of people concerning my descendants.

I'd rather my work be remembered, but not world-wide, just by a select group of people throughout the generations.
