The problem with most peoples definition of Immortality is, that aparently it takes away the option
of chosing death if you feel like dying. There is actually some pretty good reasons for going with immortality.
I'd chose it simply because it promises to be an interesting life. I'm used to not being healthy anyway... meh

Immortal, with the disease, I'd live to see my children and grand children and great-great grandchildren grow and be happy, plus on the off chance someone was to try to kill me, they couldn't.

Immortality's pretty sweet, but of course, comes with it's own baggage, as does our short human lifespans.

Immortality is the worst power that anyone can possibly have. Just imagine if you had it.



100 years has gone by, and you've seen several generations grow up and die, including your spouse/child/grandchild. Everything's going fantastic.

Until a certain medical fact comes along, the older you get the faster time goes by. Soon enough you'll never be able to form relationships, because after a given amount of time, this principal will apply to human lifespans.

Then, 5 billion years later, the sun goes to supernova, but it's OK, you've survived the first dowse of it. Then the Earth itself is completely destroyed, and now you're floating through space doing whatever you like. Hey, you might be chilling in a nebula, or floating on over to Andromeda. Who knows, you might get some sweet Alien babes from some random planet.

Until, a few trillion years later, the Universe shows it's fine entropy. Then, everything is gone, and there you float in a black, empty void, forever.

Everything you just described....makes immortality seem....AWESOME!!! I hate people, don't have a spouse, or much of a family that I care about enough to speak of, and I think seeing the end of the universe would be amazingly cool. Imagine the knowledge you could accumulate seeing the birth and death of trillions of species, and planets, watching civilizations climb and fall, so what if you get stuck in a boring eternity? I would gladly drift the universe for eons finding other species and planets once humanity is dead and gone. Maybe it takes a billion years, imagine how many times I could enjoy 0 gravity fapping during that time, and since I was immortal, I wouldn't even have to worry about chafing. Once all existence ended, and I was the last thing left, well, I guess I would be pretty bored, but the only way I would be the last thing left in the universe is if existence itself ceases to exist, which in that case I couldn't exist any longer if there was no existence. So technically I would end with the universe. Who knows, maybe immortals can choose to end their own life when they are sick of it.

Technically a disease cannot harm you if you're immortal. I guess it could do some other things, but it would depend on the disease, so if it was really bad, I'd choose mortal. Like if I couldn't walk or something, I'd choose mortal. If it's like vampirism and the disease makes me hace to stay away from sunlight or something, then I'd choose immortal. I don't like the daytime anyway, it's boring and usually means you have to work, but no one says anything to you at night, plus there's parties to go to. xd

Do you know how the human body reacts to being without air for a long period of time? Do you know what happens to the body when it's in space (no atmosphere) without wearing some sort of protective suit? Furthermore, after a couple of trillion years you'll probably find a nice black hole as the universe, for a lack of better words, collapses in on itself. Do you know what the gravitational pressure of a singularity would do to your body? Technically being 'alive' does not exclude you from the sensation of being crushed to nothing o_o

I am taking the side Mortal . I am not saying or worried about disease or any harms but my think is different . We are mortal and for this reason we are enjoying the life time and we are doing works with an interest for only this reason . Think that you are Immortal then how you can enjoy the eating or breathing ? I think it can also make us frustrated . In religious views there are the circumstance is different but in world its okay to be Mortal .

If that was the case you wouldn't be immortal, you would just live forever, there is a difference. If you were immortal none of that would affect you, due to the immortality and all. If you just lived forever as long as nothing killed you, then yeah that would be a problem, but you would die when the sun supernovas in 5-7 billion years anyways, so I guess that really wouldn't be a problem. If I were to attain the form of immortality you are explaining, to where I would stop existing if destroyed, then whenever the sun does supernova, my body would be burnt out of existence. If I was truly immortal, then when the supernova occurs, I would be launched through space on an epic journey to find new civilizations. And when the universe collapses, then existence will cease to exist and so will I.
