Hair: A plum purple, long and thick. She usually wears it up in a tie, a sarong/turban covering the top of her skull (Similar to Zoro from One Piece, except not a bandana).
Clothes: Saya normally wears a simple tank-like top, and a short-sleeved haori with the kanji(s) for 'Warrior' on the back. Her hakama pants are worn but sturdy, just like her geta sandals. She also fashions three gold earrings on her right ear, and later in her lifetime obtains a rather large tattoo on her back.
Personality: Saya, due to unfortunate circumstances, became a rather heavy drinker after her nineteenth birthday. While she was under the influence, she had a Wiley, foxy nature and mostly spoke in riddles. Snarky and arrogant, her drunken stupor went on until she later sobered up due to fortunate circumstances. When she is sober, she is a rather caring and judicious individual, but attempts to hide her sympathetic nature with smart-ass comments and an aloof air. She would rather put herself in the line of danger than let another get hurt, especially if it was because of her doing, but if there's no danger to anyone else, then she has no qualms with running away, even from a battle she knows she can win.
Saya also carries an emotional burden (Don't we all), and can, at times, act quite somber and tired. At these times, she almost seems as though she is an old woman rather than the semi-clumsy, fiery woman.

Background Info.
History: Saya’s father was the southern correction squad captain, as was his father, and so on. The squadron is a small but elite assemble of qualified ninja that basically do border control in south Tea country, and was originally hired way back when by a previous leader. All the squad really does is take out and round up wanted criminals that lurk near their patrol line.
Saya was the second child of her mother and father, having a single older sister that was very much her opposite. Her sister was very feminine in all aspects, and not in the least anywhere near like what she was supposed to be: A fighter. Saya’s older sister, Misa, was the eldest and thus was entitled to inherit her fathers position when she came of age; however, she didn’t want the job at all.
Saya, on the other hand, acquired a street-style fighting technique, and excelled in taijutsu and ninjutsu. Because of this, and because she was much like her father in wits and attitude, she was the apple of her fathers eye.
Saya also had two best friends, Katsutoshi and Jin. Jin regarded her as if she were a princess, until she beat it out of him at a later age, while Katsutoshi (Katsu) had a very detached but never the less friendly relationship with her. The three friends were very much close, and spent summer days and winter nights together, having fun and playing pranks. However, Jin, while not IN love with Saya, loved her very much.
Saya’s mother died from an illness when she was nine, then her father died when she was fifteen.
Misa never welcomed the squadron life, but rather acted as a figure head for a select group of elders (Cousins and other branches of the family) that acted as advisors. Saya, however, began her training early, along with Katsu and Jin, and soon became a soldier at the age of eleven. She began missions and the like, and all was well until she came across one mission in particular at the age of sixteen. She was given an assignment to take out a man, who’s name in unimportant, that just happened to not only be a soldier for their family, but also Misa’s lover. He was supposed to have betray their squad and assisted S-classed criminals. Torn between her duty to her sister, and duty to her cause, she decided to take the mission that was assigned her, and she eliminated the threat. Misa never found out that it was her sister that killed the man she loved, but after his death, she slowly withered away and took her own life.
Saya was stricken with grief, but overcame her sadness and moved on. In fact, she then inherited her sisters leadership, but rather than being a figurehead, she took charge of her squad and became quite the able and renown leader. Her family also harbored a library filled with scrolls and passages that her ancestors were given the responsibility to protect. Most were forbidden jutsu, some just history accounts, few were summoning techniques. Saya took to reading and memorizing all that she could from them, her family being the only ones allowed access to them
Then, when her nineteenth birthday came around, Jin was murdered.
You see, little did Saya know, Katsu had never liked Saya. In fact, he loathed her. All the while, he had been deeply infatuated by Saya’s sister, and aimed to become the next squad leader through marriage with her. However, when he found out Misa was in love with another man, he corrupted orders and had a hit taken out on said man in order to make room for himself. However, he did not expect Misa’s reaction, and took it more than just hard. He learned to blame Saya for her death, as well as for his missed chance at power and glory, his perception very much skewered. Thus, he began plans to frame Saya for murdering Jin, so that she would know the pain of loosing the one she loved (Once again, she was not IN love). He also set fire to the library and the main house, just for kicks to Saya’s pride.
He threatened the village with a coup if she did not concede to his terms, so taking the blame, she was exiled from the village while Katsu took her place (The line of succession, when not by direct bloodline, falls to the ablest soldier).
So Saya left, completely destroyed, and drowned her sorrows in sake, wandering from village to village. She did this until Itachi and Kisame were sent to collect her at age 28, when Pein was in search for the King of Hell summoning technique, which he could utilize but did not know. (Taking a creative license here). Long story short, she sobered up after meeting them, made a deal with Akatsuki, and established the jutsu between the Akatsuki members and Pein. (Of course, this is just about the time Itachi joins Akatsuki) She makes few actual appearances to real plot action zones, but acquaints herself with mostly Itachi and Kisame, the latter being a crush for her. (To put it simply) A few other happenstances occur between her and Katsu, ending up with her justified revenge and clearing her name. However, even though she gets to know the two well enough, nothing bears any fruit really, and she ends up living in her village as a normal woman, only acknowledging either men’s death by looking up thoughtfully.
