If you know that you don´t have the slightest chance with her, just become her friend and treat her the way you would like to be treated...

It's in me my genes. I would tell you about my nickname, (the one my Mom gave me) but that's a story for another time. But in all seriousness, have self confidence. Go look in the mirror, and tell yourself, "I am attractive, nobody can tell me otherwise." repeat this, over and over. Not everyone's going to like you, but a girl will come around for you, let's just hope she's STD free.

This is the huge Problem with our society. No one teaches us how to approach the other ***. Maybe some of you will laugh, but this is probably one of the most important things you should be able to do. Because you will not get that many chances to find the "right" one. How old are you ? My answer would depend on that.

I've heard that many times. But these guys who seem to conform to one common ideal (like being some jacked up douche) seem to be the ones "getting girls" rather than supposedly being themselves like the uniqueness of humans suggests.

A personality trait such as my fear of rejection is not illogical nor irrational, I don't know why you would say that. Given what's happened in my life the last year, it's amazing that I'm still sane, let alone emotionally stable enough to even contemplate about relationships.
