I'm Really Confused About Hidan's Strength, How Does He Stand Against...

These are some people I've heard he can beat easily, is there something I'm missing?

You've probably heard he can beat Kisame and Gated Gai from some extreme Hidan fanboys, a few think that Hidan can beat Tsunade, even though its pretty clear to me that she destroys him. Old Hiruzen can't win though.

Looking at it realistically he cannot, his body is just a frail as that of any other person and his only offensive Jutsu requires him to ingest their blood, while he is very skilled with his scythe and stake and very dangerous in that regard.

Any injury done to Tsunade even through Hidan's jutsu can be healed, she takes the same injuries he does after he ingests her blood if he does however that doesn't mean she can't heal herself. Katsuya's acid will tear him apart to the point at which he can't fight which is really how you win against him is by disabling him.

Kisame with Samahaeda can tear through flesh fairly easily plus Kisame has many long range water style attacks to harry Hidan with while waiting to strike from under a body of water that he can summon.

Hiruzen will have some difficulty as the main way of disabling Hidan is to cut him up and the only technique of his we know of that does such is giant wind mill shurican but however he like Hidan is very agile and capable in close quarters with or without his staff plus with long range fire style and defensive earth style keeping Hidan at bay should prove simple enough.

Gai may have some difficulty without the Gates but with he's probably fast enough and strong enough to just appear behind Hidan unexpectedly and tear his arms of by hand.

1. Decapitation
2. Hyper-regenerative mitotic physiology
3. Keeping him at bay with a stick
4. taking his scythe away
5. Keeping him from drawing his symbol
6. Keeping him the hell away from his symbol
7. Not being able to be cut and blooded from his scythe
8. Breaking the scythe in pieces

Those shinobi listed can do multiple numbers listed.

i think that hiruzen is the only one that can completely beat hidan. tsunade, kisame, and gai can beat the crap out of hidan but they can't kill him or counter his immortality. hiruzen can use the reaper seal on him to completly defeat him.
