I get this is a joke thread but if you really haven't checked so far - Tolkien took bible and other historical context from his culture and made a verse of his own. Somewhat in the similar way like Manga artist do in their work. Try it sometimes.

Star Wars - meh. I liked the first movie as a kid, tried some others too but couldn't really get in to it. Probably because I prefer to read than watch or maybe a genre thing. Not sure..

Movies killed the books to an extent. Not only they made Gandalf and Frodo look pitiful more than a few times They completely butchered Faramir's character. I wonder if someone should sue them for murder because they couldn't make him more OOC. -_-

Not to mention that stupid love triangle in the Hobbit.. I can go on but you get the picture.
